I drink most anything and everything with most everything anytime. I’m thinking about a Whiskey/Bourbon Milk Punch at the moment😉, but I am actually drinking a soda water with some lemon twists.
@RockyMountainBriar I just got this pocket knife pipe tool. I believe you have one as well yes? This is the Rough Rider pipe knife. The blade is very sharp. I really like this little guy for the money. Seems to be well made too.
You rounded off the tamper end. I don't know how to do that so, I'm going to use it as is.
I also bought the one with “Wasp” colored scales, but I was kinda bummed out that it did not have the little inlaid pipe in the handle scale.
@PappyJoe Smoky Mountain Knife Works= SMKW.com has them, just search for “pipe doctor”. They are made by Rough Ryder….and they are Chinese made, but they are very good fit and finish/quality. I think they come in a few other handle scale colors/patterns/materials too.
An unsmoked petite Rhodesian estate pipe from Wally frank that I just acquired. At least that was the story I was sold but the pipes gorgeous and it was cheap.
Got some loot today. I bought six tins of this years “Tupelo” edition of C&D’s “Sun Bear” and a couple of tins of C&D “Low Country” “Santee”..the apple in the description intrigued me. The tin description says it should pair well with a mint julep….mmmm….sounds good. I may have to try it. I need to find my mint syrup, or make some🙂
Three of our grandsons have been down from Tennessee for the last two months. To get them back home, I took them to the Gadsden, Alabama area to meet up with their step-sister and her husband who were taking them the rest of the way. I decided to spend the night in Homewood which is a suburb of Birmingham. It is also the home of The Briary which is an outstanding pipe and cigar bar. Just check out part of their selection...
Anyway, I bought three tins: State of Virginia Hill of Slane 7 Seas Black
They also have some tobacco blends I haven't seen before like Hoya de Monterrey Pipe Tobacco by the Hoya de Monterrey Cigar Company. Anyway, take a look at their website before you make your next order. You might see something you like.
Well, no tobacco today, but other loot. Whiskey and knives, what could go wrong? I wanted a couple of new kitchen knives, and the prices on the others were hard to pass up, or have been watching them for awhile, plus I got the S&W “for free” (cause I met their minimum). The folding Sous Chef knife is awesome, a camper knife🙂 My friend and co-worker was talking about wanting to try “gin & tonic”, he knew I am a fan of gin, so he asked some advice. I highly recommended Bombay Sapphire😋. We took a trip to the liquor store after lunch….I was wanting to try another Irish Whiskey besides the (not for me) Bushmills and was wanting what @opipeman imbibes on occasion. I got the name incorrect…dang it….oh well The Tullamore DEW….will have to do……in place of the Teeling’s this time. I will say, I do the (Tullamore) DEW😋 The Platte Valley Corn Whiskey is pretty good (for a corn liquor moonshine) type whiskey. I admit it again, I’m a sucker for cool liquor bottles.
@RockyMountainBriar; What does any of that stuff have to do with Pipes or Tobac? You should be embarrassed to post such a picture. Pack it up and mail it to me and maybe I can find it in me heart to forgive you. Ashamed you should be.
@Zouave1864 Yes, pretty nice on left flank, weaker on the right, but a pretty good crosscut with the cross-grain centered on the shank. Just a few small, almost imperceptible, fills. Smoking great too👍🏻.
By the way, the “Steamworks” is right up my alley, but it is on the edge of stout vitamin-n.

It's black!
Ahh, ok. I have a black one that came with one of my Halloween Peterson’s. I hadn’t seen a blue one🙂.

Now I want one of those.
Saw this on Chinazon too

I think they have almost as much Tobac as @RockyMountainBriar. Must be owned by batchlors.
Skip, the owner is married but I think he said they had no kids.
What an addition. Excellent choices, IMHO.

Nice haul!

I lead with the caveat……🙂
OK then, don't send me the stuff.

(PS Cube Cut in the small baggie)
- top - GBP Royal Derby
- middle - no name ?
- bottom - Ebonywood churchwarden - no name ? (my first churchwarden!)
Regardless of the pedigrees, or lack thereof, I like 'em.
It is very very cherry. Not to the point of medicine, but no doubt it is cherry. I'd have to say it is my favorite compared to other Cherry blends.
I think you meant me?
In any event, thank you.
P.S. The CB “Platinum” sucks…a tip from your uncle Johnny😉
