Got me in 3 Edisto, 1 Burley Flake #2, 1 Opening Night, 2 bags of cleaners, 3 Czech pipe tools, and a German clay pipe yesterday; I haven't ordered anything in a while as I've been trying to cut back on my pipe smoking a little because of a nagging upper respiratory thing, so I haven't been going through it at the usual pace.
It’s sad that tobacco needs to be labeled for really stupid people. The kids (and stupid people) that it is primarily for, probably do not know what addiction is anyway.
I almost forgot to check the mail today. I received the next tobacco in the “Birds of a Feather” by Per Georg Jensen series “Eccentric”….ahh…the bane of a collector. I bought it even though it has nasty Latakia in this blend. I’ll give it a shot, but I’m pretty sure I won’t smoke much, if any, more, silly, I know. I also grabbed a Decatur Pipe Shield to see how well it works, or doesn’t, and to get free shipping. I got another free bottle for some reason, it was added to my cart as a freebie, so what the hay. There is an interesting caveat at the bottom of the directions…..briar is wood right🤔
Ya know, it took me awhile to place it, but the Decatur Briar-Fresh looks and smells like toilet bowl cleaner🤔. Also, there is not a list of ingredients of any kind…..how can they sell it like this? Me thinks it may be toilet bowl cleaner repackaged. I believe I will refrain from it’s use.
@Montecristo I use Everclear, but I needed to buy something to get free shipping. I decided to try the Pipe Shield, but I would suggest that it would be better used to clean the commode. If anyone has experience and a different opinion on it’s use in a briar, please let me know.
@RockyMountainBriar I forgot to tell you, there was a Eldritch Rattrays pipe on ebay the other day. Had the red stain but no spikes. If it was in the states I might have grabbed it, but it was selling from England.
@Zouave@RockyMountainBriar It must be one of the pipes they contracted out to Savinelli to carve...it's way too nice looking to have come from a Peterson factory.
@vtgrad2003 I’ll tell ya, ol’ one-eye he was at work and drill’in most of my Pete’s. He must have had a monocle appointment or maybe he was out because he had a case of pinkeye.
I also have G.L. Pease “Géométrie” on the way, along with some C&D “Black Cherry” and C&D “Espresso”. I have the G. L. Pease “Windjammer” already in my cellar 🙂
It’s finally here!! Now, what to smoke first, the G.L. Pease géométrie or the Black Cherry in the new Meerschaum bowl for my Falcon🤔
As a quick bit of interesting trivia. These “20 Mule Team” freight wagons and water tank reproductions were made for the Death Valley Conservatory in California. They were hand made, from scratch, from the ground up, right here in Montana at the Engels Coach Works in Joliet, Montana. It’s about 40 miles SW of Billings on the way to Red Lodge, Montana and the Beartooth Pass. If anyone needs a new wagon/coach wheel, or other part for draft animal modes of transportation, you can get-er-done there🙂. There are several interesting youtube videos of their wheelwright and wagon/coach restoration work. I don’t recall the weight of each of those borax freight wagon wheels, but I do know, it’s substantial.
@opipeman As far as fuel for those wagons, does it get any “greener”? Of course the “greenies” would argue that the lumber needed ruined the forests, the fuel for the forge, be it coal, wood, coal oil, or natural gas, or any petroleum product is ruining the land and the air. Add to the top of that, working those poor dumb mules, and using some animal parts for the harness, lines and axel grease. Don’t forget the big one….just think of all the mule farts as they are pulling those heavy assed wagons across the desert polluting the air and destroying the ozone. We’re doomed I tell you, doomed.😳😬

It was drilled spot on, finished great, and only has a couple of really tiny fills.
It's the drilling I hear most about with Peterson...the guy who normally drills with only one eye must have been off that day

I'll buy one of those before I'd buy an electric vehicle.
