@PappyJoe - Thanks Pappy! I just know I have used a'many bottle of it as a curling weight. That's how I got these extra nice biceps I got, right'here! They decided a few years back that they thought a little bit more of it than I did so I made the move to Bulleit. It was a little easier on the wallet and I did notice I wasn't losing weight quite as fast when I went to the liquor store anymore.
@PappyJoe - Sounds to me like the only thing about it that was reminiscent of Rye was the fact that you found it, as you say, "to be a smooth, satisfying...& bite free." Hmmm!?!? Perhaps, the search continues.
Been a little while since I've been on here..but @Kmhartle NICE STUFF! I've been eyeing the Maltese Falcon... Would love to hear how you like it. Thanks!
Not really a “loot purchase”, but I did receive a very generous assortment of tobaccos that I have been wanting to sample and a Comoy’s Guildhall in a package yesterday😀. The results of an excellent trade with @thebadgerpiper 👍🏻
Good to see you @Oddjob27! I really like the Maltese Falcon. A lot. For me, it's a nice morning smoke to go with coffee. Not too heavy and the tobacco, especially the orientals, are high quality. There is a mystery spice which some say is ginger that's occasionally noticeable on retrohale and aftertaste. I've ordered more to cellar and highly recommend it.
@jfreedy ~ Have you tried GLP Sextant? I'm really getting hooked on it too. An English with a bit of rum. Like Maltese Falcon, the more I smoke it, the more I like it.
Yes! But it is for a good cause. Never smoke Sextant but smoked and loved Gaslight and Maltese Falcon, for me, they are both mild and good for a morning pipe with coffee.
Let me, as an aromatic smoker this time around, say that Gaslight is the most interesting blend I've ever smoked. Everyone should try it at least once.... This is Latakia doing tricks.
Three finds this weekend. A Savinelli pipe for $30 in one shop. A vintage cast iron tobacco cutter and a ceramic tobacco jar for $70 total. Pictures after I get home.
It's been a minute since being on here, but the temptation to buy tobacco is real... I've been having to hold off as I have other financial priorities I need to handle. Haha. But, I am enjoying living vicariously through all your purchases! Haha
@KA9FFJ ~ It's an open invitation to all TPL members that might be traveling to or through Topeka, KS. All are welcome to visit and sample or try anything in my cellar. Full disclosure ~ my cellar is 98% English / Balkan.
