Thanks @Oddjob27. The first bowl of Maltese Falcon was amazing. It was flavorful but well behaved enough to smoke all day. Give me a few more bowls and I'll see if I can do a proper review.
King’s Frog Morton Match and King of Swords. Happy the King is back. I like that blend, so hopefully it stays around for a bit. I’m still looking to do an aromatic purchase from TCS. Probably the Tobac Du Chocolat and P.S. Blend.
@Wrmills Charring/spider webbing.....it was smoked real hot before a carbon layer was built up. It just means it is probably closer to “burning out”. I can’t see the outside of the bowl well in the pics, but it seems I see dark spots on the outside? Smoke it slow and build up a cake, or you can whip up some “pipe-mud” using some fine cigar ash and a bit of water. Make a paste and spread a thin layer around the inside of the bowl and let it dry. It will basically make a protective, safe, and flavorless carbon layer without any heat. Be sure to carefully clear the airway of excess “mud” with a pipe cleaner before it dries.
I've been wanting to try SG Squadron Leader for a long time now. P&C has been out for months now so I put myself on the email waiting list. I got the long awaited email it was back in stock. Should be coming on Monday or Tuesday.
Managed to snag some Sutliff Private Stock. Seems rather aged with the tins being covered in dust, and the tobacco itself being rather dry and beginning to sparkle the way aged tobacco does. While so far I think the Sunrise smoke tastes a bit funny, the Bosphorus Cruise is a real treat.
