I saw it last week sometime when I bought the assortment of stems for my “Choula” pipe sillyness. I bought the “Tiberius” MM instead. I had not seen it before either. I like the stem on that Moganton but I dislike the exterior bowl shape. I thought about the Kingston Judge too, love that red stem. Nearly $30 for a cob is kinda crazy, but those blank stems are not exactly inexpensive.
Saw these pipes in the sale ad and had to take a gander. If I was only made of money. Still, not too expensive and pretty nice looking pipes. There are some sandblasted versions that are nice too.
@RockyMountainBriar nice choice with that Tiberius. I love the stem on it. I couldn't decide between that and the Charlestown Cobler. I went with the Cobler, and now I still want the the Tiberius.
@Zouave Funny, the stem color/pattern is not what I expected…I guess it is suppose to be “spacey”? I thought I might have liked the Charlestown Cobbler or the Kingston Judge better. I like the Emerald stem, just not the pipe shape, the same reason I have, so far, passed on the Charlestown and Emerald pipes.
@vtgrad2003 Concerning that MM, I too am not familiar with that pipe model. MM usually has 3 to 4 tables at the St. Louis pipe show, and I'll be sure to check it out... Sidenote: Can't tell for sure looking at my phone, but it appears to have an acrylic stem.?.?.
@KA9FFJ Yep, acrylic stem. I was curious because I usually keep my eye out for the nicer MM custom pipes. The standard issue MM cobs (e.g., those with plastic stems) are okay, but my best smokers are the custom ones that are finished better, seem to use a higher quality cob, filled and polished, and have acrylic stems. I don't mind paying $30 for one of those. If you get an idea from them of any new styles coming out, let me know if you could please.
@Zouave Not too big, not too small….but just right🙂, for me anyway. I think they are Dunhill 3-4, closer to 4. Nice pipes for around $65 new. I have a red sandblasted one around here somewhere too, I could not find it yesterday, damned if I know where I stashed it.😖. It just dawned on me where I stashed the Sandblasted Goblin🙂 Here are a few comparison pictures next to a Peterson 03 so you can get an idea of size. I think you have a Pete 03 Atlantic if I remember correctly. I am still looking at getting a Rattray’s Fachen 100 and maybe a Goblin 99, the bent one, I wish they had a tapered stem instead of a saddle though. I smoke them with the Vauen 9mm from Tobaccopipes.com, or the 8-Deco 9mm from SmokingPipes.com adapters. I think they may be the same manufacturer, but the SPC 8-Deco are less expensive, like 2 for $2. I chamfer the tenon end of the adapters and I think I am going to bore them out from 3mm to 4mm, or maybe taper bore them.
@RockyMountainBriar thanks for the comparison. From some of the descriptions I was reading, they were making out to sound much smaller. I think I'm going to start looking around for one of the bent ones.
@thebadgerpiper I don’t think you are going to find a 2021 POY anywhere except the “estate” market, and then it will be either a miracle or threes times what the were originally. I think SmokingPipes.com sold all of them in just a few hours, most in just minutes. I had to settle for a sandblasted one. I guess several customers were just plain screwed out of them when they were “double” and “triple” sold😳. Man I wanted that natural finished one. It sounds like it was the only one on SPC when they popped online. I couldn’t even get a smooth in any finish, they sold like hot cakes, and I was on the site almost as soon as they popped, within a five minutes or less.
Sometimes Cavicchi makes a pipe so perfectly it gives you goosebumps...he is by far my favorite carver, and only $550...an American or Danish carver would charge over a grand for this all day long.

I saw that model on Missouri Meerschaum's website sometime before Christmas. It's just a dressed up Patriot.

Love that bent...
I had told myself I was going to hold off on Peterson's for now, but this one really has my eye.

I did, but the problem is the following when it comes to refurbishing your own estate pipes:
1. It takes talent
2. It takes patience
3. It takes skill
4. It takes equipment
5. It takes knowhow
6. It takes effort
None of which I have!

A Savinelli Sherwood that won't be available at the St. Louis show and a new matchup with my 313!
