So…@Woodsman and @KA9FFJ Do you put new papyrus sleeves in them, use old ones, leave the vents open (which would be difficult to smoke I would think)? It sounds like the vents are not covered unless you have your fingers over them?
Don't smoke Carey. Good pipe, just never became part of my routine rotation. The last one I had a few years back, I gifted it to one of our TPL brothers...
@motie2 Just received a box of stummels. One was a Carey Magic Inch naturally with no stem. And as you know, without the stem it no longer has the "Magic inch". So I pulled the stem insert and plan on turning a push stem for the stummel. Anyway, I was disappointed. If the stem had of been there, even if it meant a repair, I would have fixed it up and sent it to you. I'll keep looking...

That pipe looks real similar to the one E.A. Carey I have left.
I light my two Careys the same way. They are good smokers as well.

It’s all yours friend.🙂
Please convey that lovely thought to SWMBO.
She hath forbade it,
Tell her I said it was ok, you rate another pipe. YOLO brother🙂
The top one looks interesting.
I would pass on the bottom one for just being plain ugly.
Ugly pipes, like ugly girls, need some love'n too.
My first Carey, in 1968, was $15.00….
But it was an ad like these that hooked me.
