Re: What's for Dinner? (Pairing pipe, drinks & dinner)
Speaking of dinner, I can’t wait to use my “Kirsten” as in Kirsten Pipe Company corn cob holders. I have a couple more pairs on the way. I need to buff and polish the ones in the ziplock. I used my buffing wheel on the other two, and it got most of the oxidation, but I need something that can get into the grooves better. I have the same issue with some of my old Kirsten pipes I have refurbished. I think the previous owner might have washed them in a dishwasher? Dishwashers mess up aluminum a bit, the ‘forks’ are stainless steel. I was thinking of making a similar tamper to the one for sale on EBay by “Kroozer” (repurposed from these cob holders), but I think I will use them for corn as they were intended.
Re: What are you guys smoking right Now?
Smoking some C&D “Espresso” in a Pete “Sports” 7. It was an unsmoked pipe when I bought it, cheap. The tenon was broken off and missing. This is one of the first pipes, if not the first, I replaced a tenon on. It was before I had a lathe.
Re: The World We Live In
My dad always use to say that I didn’t know shit from Shinola….now I do. This was in my Uncle Jim’s stuff that I inherited (my Uncle Jim was my dad’s twin). My dad passed in ‘1989’, my Uncle in ‘2004’.

The looks fantastic! I haven't made meade in ages, I used to use an orange and cinnamon recipe that included 20 raisins for the tannins to help the fermentation.

@RockyMountainBriar
I like it.
The first bowl I had gave me the impression of mocha coffee I occasional make during the winter months (making hot cocoa with coffee instead of milk or hot water). Since then I get more of a coffee with cream flavor.

@RockyMountainBriar As you know though, things don't ever get better unless you make the management aware of the problem. They need to know that we as consumers expect better.
In addition, while you may not get you limited edition pipe, would you say no to a $250 - $500........ voucher.
I wouldn't, but I do get your point and at the end of the day we all have to follow our own path.

Baked whole chicken with Cajun seasoning, steamed cabbage, tater wedges and brown rice. Made a banana pudding earlier. Captian Black Royal on standby for afterwards.

Re: What's for Dinner? (Pairing pipe, drinks & dinner)
@RockyMountainBriar Sorry I am late responding to your earlier post.
Regarding your dissatisfaction with your Peterson pipes, I recommend you send a letter to them (the President) and explain your issues as a collector and long time Peterson pipe consumer (keep it congenial), just express your disappointment..
Address your letter to Sykes Wilford, who is the president of Laudisi Enterprises who own Peterson these days, I am a firm believer in the "squeaky wheel getting the oil".
If I gave you his e-mail address it would not have the same impact as the letter; on top of which I don't feel comfortable posting it
Mail your letter to the attention of Sykes Wilford ,Laudisi Enterprises, 550 Highway 9 , East Longs, SC 29568
If you can include some good images illustrating the issues that would also be helpful.
You may be surprised by the response.

Re: What are you guys smoking right Now?
I started the day with GLP Westminster in an Apple Diplomat. After that I made some fresh coffee, roasted coffee and brushed out the dog. Now it's time for GLP Ashbury in a Pride and hopefully it clears enough to get some outdoor projects done!

We had a simple dinner, pan seared salmon along with sautéed mushrooms, peppers and onions. Pipe is Drucquer Casbah in a Rob Roy, beverage is Lambrusco wine.
