Re: What are you Drinking while smoking your pipe today?
@Londy3 I just bought that exact cap. Thought I was going to loose all my hair after the chemo so I ordered the cap, but my Oncologist and Radiologist have both determined I won't need the chemo. Radiation and meds should do the trick without the added discomfort of chemo treatments. Always liked the look of that style cap (called a Newsboys Cap) but was never one for wearing a hat. The type of cap seen on Peeky Blinders and Youtube's resident Hitman "Sammy The Bull wears.
Think I'll wear it anyway.

@ghostsofpompeii;
You are and will remain in my prayers. It is amazing what Medical Science can do, but it is more amazing what we can endure. keep on looking forward.

Re: Good and Welfare
@opipeman Congrats on what appears to be a successful knee replacement surgery. You should be off injured reserve in no time and back to helping the Bears win a chance at another Superbowl bid. I see my Radiologist tomorrow and expect radiation treatments to begin in May. I'm looking forward to getting this whole thing behind me very soon.
My treatment for prostate cancer seem to be moving along very well. It appears the prostate portion of the cancer might be under control - now they need to focus on the lymph gland that were affected and the bone in my hip. If you know anything about medicine and the PSA blood test they give you for detecting prostate cancer the higher the number the greater risk for cancer. Well when this whole thing started my PSA number was 14. It concerned my doctor enough to have me visit a Urologist. After a two month wait my appointment came and the second PSA showed the number jumped to 38. That prompted him to send me to an Oncologist and by the time I got in to see him it had jumped to 44. He then declared it full blown Stage 4 prostate and they set the wheels in motion for treatment. My next test right before treatment began the number jumped once again to 66.
Well last week I sent to the University of Chicago after a month of medication and shots to decrease my testosterone and the number dropped to an unbelievable 2. The doctor was delighted by the progress - and as you can imagine so am I. So now that the prostate seems to be under control the radiation should attack the cancer in my lymph glands and bone.
Things are definitely looking up.

I would hate to think about downsizing. We have been in this house since 1972 with all of the accumulation that goes with that. It is getting harder to keep the place up, but I just can't let go. I hope your move goes well.

On another break, well deserved I might add, with some Tinderbox Honey Maple and a modified and restemmed Tom Spano...
