@KA9FFJ; All it takes is time, the right tools, skill, and vision. Then it is easy. I only have one of the four, but I do admire the work of those with all four.
Decided to use green inserts on the second one. In the background is the table top cabinet I'm converting into a pipe storage cabinet. All externals are now completed: stripped, stained, and polyurethaned. Will start working on the interior sometime near future...
Cut, stained, polyurethaned and used a forstner bit to complete phase one of the interior shelving of the cabinet... Still have to make the felt inserts. Not sure what color I'll use yet...
Have them attached now and, short of wiping it down and giving it a good overall cleaning, I'm finished. I figure I have about 12-14 bucks invested, plus my time. Also, I like the small storage area in the bottom for tins, accessories, whatever... Here's the final:
@RockyMountainBriar Above is that self standing pipe cabinet you mentioned that's going to the show. Meanwhile, I drove the wife to Joann's, a material place near us. While she was looking over materials, I went back and found a small plaque for 1.98. I took some scrap 1 x 2 and a left over dowel rod and made this today. Not sure how I'll finish it yet, but all the basics are completed...
While prepping for my move to a downsized house, I ran across some scrap wood. Decided to cut it all down for easy packing. They are now projects that will be finished much later after we get settled next month:
Notice the strange one in the front? It will rack a churchwarden along the back side. I have a lot of sanding and reshaping, but as I've said, it will be a project for next month after I get settled in our new house...
