Yep, I don't know when, but I'm going to build one or two of those jar racks for my tobacco. Here's how my newly labeled jars look now, and you can now see why a rack or two is in order...
I apologize for the few above posts I've placed lately. There is a thread "Tobacco Storage" that I should have used rather than this one concerning pipes. Please credit my mistake toward old age...😴
@vtgrad2003 It’s just a little indoor one that my cat loves as a waterbowl.
Damn, I would love an outdoor gargoyle fountain. It would go along with my roof gargoyle rain gutter spouts (which I don’t have either🙁). Gargoyle drive way columns would complete the picture. My neighbors would think…well….know….that I had gone off my rocker.😬
@RockyMountainBriar back in college I dated a girl who's mother was a gargoyle maker/repair person....not sure what you would call her job. When architecture companies or builders needed to replace or repair gargoyles they would contact this woman. Her workshop was wild.
One of my nieces gave me that Mojojojo. He is a rubber stamp. She also gave me a keychain/zipper pull Mojojojo…that about 20 years ago. My previous cat’s namesake “Scrat” is the little guy next to him🙂 Felix discombobulated the two gargoyles on the speaker…..cats!
Found this today at a second hand store for 8 bucks! After cleaning, refinishing and reworking the inside, I think it will make a cool pipe racks and accessories table top cabinet...
@RockyMountainBriar Yeah, I told my wife that it was probably a couple of bucks more than the hinges would be. By telling her that, I avoided the stink eye...
Got tired of laying my newly made mini churcwarden wherever I could find room, so I decided to make a quick and simple rack dedicated to the pipe. Came up with this design. Now I need to hand sand it to a more finished look. After that I'm not sure. I can stain it, leave it natural, or something I've never done; paint it with a real mellow green. Still thinking...🤔
Tnx @RockyMountainBriar Much appreciated. Decided to stain it to hopefully promote a good contrast between it and the pipe. If I don't like it, I'll just make another one from more of the scrap wood this one was made from...
Here's the final. I didn't take the time necessary to make it a finished piece of furniture. It's what I call a quick solution to a problem. But since it's just for me, I left much to be desired to make it a really well done finished project. Bottom line, it functions and looks "decent"...
Scrap lumber... that's the key. Have a nearby construction site that had a few small pieces. Got permission, picked them up and already have one near completed, and another one ready for drilling. Just stained the first one. After drying, a light sanding, then a coat of poly and finish it off with felt inserts. When finished I'll show you the final:

Devil Dogs don't get old.
I may have to build one, maybe more gothic than swiss alpine, to match my gargoyle fountain.
That's awesome.
If you're talking about building one for your pipes, you're going to need about 15 to 20 of them...😏

Check out the link below for a great article on how to cellar pipe tobacco by Chuck Stanion on smokingpipes.com.

You wouldn’t even be able to buy the wood for that….heck….I think the hinges might cost nearly that. Nice score.

I really like the angles and flow of that pipe and stand combo. Very aesthetically pleasing, to me anyway👍🏻
Much appreciated.

Probably wouldn't have normally chose that color, but it seemed to give a nice contrast to the pipe...
Great design, Brother.
