This month’s artisan highlight is something truly unique! Max Capps not only makes amazing pipes, but designs incredible cases to safely protect your favorite pipe or pipe collection! We highly recommend viewing his work on Instagram.
Lousy weather this past week. Took advantage and consolidated my humble little pipe/tobacco storage area. Culled out about 18 pipes for a rework, and thought I'd share a pic of the final... Would love to see other setups you guys have put together...
@vtgrad2003 Some are approaching the fifteen year mark, others have been stained. I've gotten used to the open draw and prefer the Danish stem without a filter. All the bent models have been re-stemmed with a straight Danish that I bend to my liking.
@KA9FFJ, I need to get more of a couple of blends there to fill it up, they hold ten tins per row. I also have an idea for the C&D style cans that will despense the cans as you need to pop a new one!
It looks like something King Charles the Second would use to take a dump in, is that what you were thinking 🤣 although granted, the hole is kind of small
@opipeman You are correct. I will eventually be modifying it into a pipe rack. When I find something like this, especially for a couple of bucks, I buy it and put it to the side for a project down the line. Hopefully, in the mean time, no one will see it and try to take a dump in it...😧
Thunderstorms, rain, just altogether lousy weather. Had some scrap wood, decided to make use of it so I made another pipe rack. I was surprised when I sold 9 out of 10 pipe racks I made at the St. Louis pipe show, so I figure I'm not exactly wasting my time. Anyway, here it is. I figure it could be a great rack for larger pipes (notice the space I put between pipes for racking...
Well after about a 2 day learning curve, I can finally make my own jar labels... Only have about 16 more to go, then I think I'll try to make a jar rack similar to muttonchop piper. We'll see...

That's outstanding, Brother! I've got pipes and Tobac stored in so many places, it would be difficult to take that many photos.
Your last post was almost a direct quote of what @motie2 said here years ago🙂
I am basically in the same boat except my wife stopped counting pipes when I got to 50 pipes.
A Secretary Cabinet and a shelf.
That is one hell of a cob collection! I've never seen one that large. I see some old ones in there too, what's the oldest cob you have?

Nicely done!
My only suggestion is to make two, then FILL'EM UP!
😏
Seriously, I like that idea... well done.
A pipe holder or a towel rack? Maybe I lack your creative vision, but I look forward to your modification.

Just don’t let @vtgrad2003 get near it and you’ll be ok😂😂😂

Those are really cool, Brother.
Nice rack!
I think that would fall under the Fair Use clause of copyright law.
Simple, basic and gets the job done...
