Welcome KI! You don't have to break the bank with a Savinelli, instead buy a couple of corn cob pipes and some one ounce bulk tobacco to get started. If @Londy3 insists that you start with a Savinelli, ask to borrow one!
@ThatguyKI Be aware, corn cobs lend a corn flavored sweetness to a blend, especially when new. That being said, Missouri Meerschaum cobs are solid smokers.
Hello there! New here but not to pipe smoking. I have been smoking a pipe since 2009. I heard about this site while going through old CSR episodes. Super glad to be here and see some familiar names from the show.
@Burnsyou Go to the top of the page, on the left side where your “weird smiley face” is next to your handle, pick the “gear” symbol. From there you can pick “edit profile”. Then in the column on the lower left, you can pick “change picture”.
Greetings, everyone. I'm an Old Codger; a pipe and cigar smoker for over 50 years. I just stumbled upon this forum, and when I read above about it being one with the least amount of drama, I figured I'd give it a shot. I have a very spiritual relationship with tobacco and find that its benefits far outweigh any risks. Cheers!
@chipc73; Glad to have you join us. We're long in the tooth(no everyone), but short on drama. Jump in and feel free to comment or ask questions. It's amazing the amount of expertise and knowledge in this bunch. I've been smoking a pipe since 1964/5 and I still learn new things on our forum.
@chipc73 Well, I’m a newb. I was born around the time @opipeman started smoking a pipe🙂. I have learned a lot since I started this venture about 11 years ago, and much of it here. There are a bunch of great people here, but be warned, if you dish it out (whatever it is🙂) you better be able to take it😬. Looking forward to what I can learn from an “Old Codger”. Welcome Aboard @chipc73
@chipc73 Welcome to the party! Those of us who participate the most try to keep the drama to a minimum. We are pretty good about answering questions, talking about pipes and pipe tobacco.
Thank you all for the warm welcome! I look forward to perusing the site and learning something new. Regardless of my many years of the love of tobacco, I enjoy learning new things all the time!
I, too, am a newcomer. I got into cigars initially at 18 as a way to share a common interest with my father. I’ve since gotten into pipe tobacco the last 6-7 years as an ‘economical’ way to enjoy my love for tobacco as well as to scratch the itch of my self-diagnosed OCD and nigh unstoppable fidgeting! Who needs a fidget cube when you’ve got it all in a packed pipe, lighter to flick and tamper to, well, tamper with? I look forward to gleaning all the tips I can from you who are more experienced then I. Currently my rotation consists of several Briars (mostly Rossi’s cause I’m too cheap to buy a Sav, and one Ropp Stout Bulldog) about to get back into cobs with a Rob Roy coming my way any day now.
@MillennialPiper; Good to see new blood join us and share knowledge and thoughts about our love for our shared hobby. Jump in and ask questions or post what's on your mind. Great people on this site.

Welcome to the forum. It may not be as active as other forums, but with few exceptions it is also the one with the least drama.

I’m a newb compared to most here, but I’ll help in your journey, if I can.
