@opipeman The were illegal here, but since they changed the concealed carry law I’m not sure. Besides, you gotta get too close to use them, more of an offensive ambush weapon. I don’t think I need to attack anyone, at least not yet. Society is going downhill fast though.

I couldn’t help myself, a phenomenal price and a $50 rebate. S&W 637 .38 Special +P. The short rubber boot/bantam grip panels are the originals. I was trying out some others that I have. The large rubber set is from my model 60. The Hogue CocoBolo are super comfortable, but a bit wider. I settled on the skinny red/black laminate panels that I swapped off of my Model 60 Pro when I added the faux ivory panels to it. The thin laminate panels led to some sharp recoil even on the all steel Model 60 Pro 3” with .357 magnums. The .38 Special even +P should be better, although, the new 2” snub is an Airweight…we shall see🤔

It's an excellent gun and I carry it all the time in the summer when I'm wearing shorts (I also have the shrouded hammer version of that gun--638 I think it is). I have thousands of rounds through that thing and never had a single issue with it. I would avoid +P ammo though as being a snub, it's got tons of kick with +P. +P isn't necessary anyway (it's like having a hemi engine on a Dodge).
I usually use wadcutters for personal defense for it instead of hollow points. My experience with all my snubs is that they simply don't expand enough to be effective and are horrible for accuracy when they don't. Also, wadcutters being a competition round, they don't have near the kick of a regular 38 round.
If you need a holster for it, let me know...I've got a custom leather holster guy here in NC that makes fantastic, light, clip-on IWB's for that gun, and for cheap.

I cast my own lead bullets. I have .358” molds for 125RF, and a 158RF. I would like a .358” 120-150TC like the .356” 124TC that I have for 9mm, but I have yet to find one.
