Smoking my first commission pipe from papabearspipes,an 8 panel billiard with some 13 year old PS LNF. Tim Beaumont does great work for a very reasonable price, he’s out of Fowler, Ohio!
Loaded the Luciano with some 2020 Mac Baren HH Rustica. The nicotine does not seem to be affecting me adversely, at this halfway point anyway. This is not a particularly large pipe, which I chose purposely for this blend, just in case. I rubbed out one flake and let it dry for about 15-30 minutes. It is still being a bugger to keep lit. I don’t want to “freight train” it…..or worse “passenger train”.
A little note: This stuff is spicy, when I tried a couple of retrohales 😤 to get more of a feel for the blend, it makes my eyes water and instantly I wish I had not done that…..not doing it again, nope. Still no adverse nicotine effects though. It is definitely not as strong as SG Black XX rope. I do like this tobacco blend. I like Black XX more, but I don’t smoke it much, and when I do, in much smaller pipes because of the nic hit. This HH Rustica has a similar smoky BBQ meat flavor to the Black XX.
Just finished a bowl of the 2021 HH Rustica in a cob...I must say, it's great! I can't really relate it to anything else, sort of a one-off flavor, but has an after taste something like Burley Flake #2. Nicotine isn't bad at all although certainly at the upper end of the scale.
No, I haven't; I gave up on anything SG because it's so sporadic. (There was a time when I smoked their Black Cherry.) It got tiresome having to keep checking on availability with them all the time, and when I got email notification of something that was in, it was gone by the time I would try to order it, so I just gave up on them altogether.
Popped open a new blend this afternoon. Meistermisching Nr. 66 Tropical. Couldn’t find much information on it online other than it is produced by Kohlhase & Kopp and it has “tropical” flavor.
I smoked it in a clay and a cob. I found it to be light on the aromatics. With the only flavor I picked up was a hint of coconut. There may also be some mango there.
This is not a wet, goopy aromatic. I like the moisture level right out of the newly open tin.

Love your colorful review 😁
I agree! Thanks for the review...I have two tins on the way right now so I'm excited to give it a shot!
Those look like my type of tobaccos👍🏻 Nice billiard too.
Have you tried Samuel Gawith’s “Black XX” rope?
