Settling in with some Sutliff Sunset Rum in a Smokers Haven bent. Averaging 20° cooler today compared to yesterday! Fall is definately here in St. Louis...
Actually, I'm not smoking anything in my new Tom Spanu (cork wrapped bent). It is so pretty I can't decide if I want to smoke it. It is the most I have ever spent for a pipe.
@thebadgerpiper; Thank You. It looks like the cork is sliced very thin and then glued to the briar almost seamlessly. I'm anxious to see how it holds up, it appears to be so delicate. I'll take her on her maiden voyage tomorrow.
I'm smoking some Black Cordial from King Street Emporium in a MM Legend. I'm not a big fan or cherry tobacco but this stuff is amazing. It tastes like a cherry cordial with toasty tobacco flavors instead of the chocolate. The only caution is don't light it with a Zippo. It isn't a good combination.
Smoking some HGL in my green Molina 106 that is no longer green, not sure what the color actually is now, sort of a gray with a little brown.
I am unsure what they used for the finish, it seems to be like a urethane with the color, but the heat from smoking has changed it, and where there was no visible grain when new, it now has a great grain with different parts of the pipe being different shades.
@mapletop I have. Peterson St. Patrick’s Day that was green, but the green has almost faded away completely. It has only been smoked once or twice and it is not stored in direct sunlight either 🙁. I bought it because I thought the green looked good on the pipe.
Our son and his wife are coming home for Christmas from Las Vegas, so I needed to install a long overdue shower light in my finished basement bathroom. Wiring and all, it took about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Taking a break now with some Sutliff Old Vienna in a CAO Latticed meer. Very nice blend in a very nice pipe...
Had Boswell Xmas Cookie today. Anyone having problems with P&C orders arriving in a timely manner? Put in an order last Sunday night still haven’t gotten it, must be Covid. I know when I ordered my last two pipes they were right on. Maybe Monday it will show up.
Sutliff tobacco smoking wet....no, your’re kidding me😳. I have to say, this Tsuge is distilling the moisture out and making for a pleasurable smoke without torching my tongue👍🏻 The liquid in the bottom of the bowl is just from the first half of smoke. These are some Sutliff tobacco blends I bought 6-7 years ago. I stored them in mason jars and have not revisited them since trying them the first time. I did not really enjoy any of them at that time. I need the mason jars they are stored in for some other more enjoyable tobaccos, so I am deciding if I want to keep any of them. I can’t find any wide mouth half pint mason jars in town🙁
Today, I’m smoking through:
Blue Danube Metropolitan Roma Vita Charlemagne St. George’s Blend
Moulin Rouge
South Seas
After much deliberation.and smoking, I guess I will be keeping: Blue Danube Moulin Rouge South Seas Anyone ever notice the strange light brown/tan ash that Sutliff tobaccos leave, at least all of the ones I have?
Enjoying a pipeful of Peretti's Tashkent with a custom blend of coffees.
@RockyMountainBriar I've tried a bunch of Sutliff's offerings over the years and never made it to the bottom of one! Recently I was looking for a chocolate or coffee aromatic to enjoy with outdoor chores and they all seemed to have chemically based flavors.
Having C&D Good Morning and a good hot cup of coffee after cracking the ice on the duck pools and bringing them a bucket of water. Winter is on it's way to New England!
@thebadgerpiper I enjoy Lancers Slices and in the same vein, when it's in stock, Savinelli Giubilio d'Oro. I'm hoping Samuel Gawith blends will make it back so I can try their Balkan Flake!
John Aylesbury Red (formerly known as Sillem's Red) in a clay pipe. JA Red has potential as a good Christmas blend. It's an aromatic flavored with apple, cherries and plums. Despite the names (Sillem's and John Aylesbury), the blend is made by Kohlhase & Kopp in Denmark.

@KA9FFJ Haha, it's actually a wireless bluetooth earbud. I listen to music while I mow to help pass the time.

Yeah, wait until Milo is late coming home with the car.
