Thank you, @motie2 & @KA9FFJ. I don't have anything like it, so decided to take the plunge. It's a great flake pipe. They had a lot of estate pipes at this particular Tinder Box.
@KA9FFJ - I just read some previous posts and noticed I commented on how much I liked your Savinelli Nonpareil pipe. Now that I’m looking at yours... the two pipes are similar... especially in the sandblast. I think I subconsciously wanted your pipe and that’s why I was so drawn to this Svendborg. .
I just enjoyed a bowl of Scotty's Trout Stream, a gift from a piper friend. The pipe, a Carved EA Carey poker. Beautiful day on the rear deck. Wish a couple of you were here.....
I can’t think of a better way to spend a day off with such nice weather than to head to the back porch and enjoy some VS in a @Corey562 Freehand. A great smoking pipe to enjoy a long smoke.
I hope someday to sit with you as well. I am sure we could solve many of the worlds' problems over a bowl or two of pipe tobacco.
I understand that Scottys' "Trout Stream" is pretty good stuff. I have my eye on the Scottys' "Butternut Burley" which I really want to try. Times being a bit tough here I cannot spend any money on tobacco right now, but the anticipation keeps me reading about it, and just waiting to ty it.
I’m smoking some Dunhill Nightcap in my 1968 (birth year) Dunhill Canadian lit with my 1985 Dunhill lighter. Just got the pipe today... it’s my first Dunhill.
Going to keep it rolling...Some G.L.Pease “Cairo” in my 1927 (my fathers birth year) Dunhill Lovat, and a Dry Martini with Headframe Spirits Anselmo Gin (Made in Butte Montana). Can it still be called a martini with a hot pepper as garnish? My house, my rules...It’s good to be the king.
@jfreedy Love that Dunhill Canadian. I missed out on a 1964 Dunhill LBS (my birth year) on SmokingPipes.com awhile back.....should have “pulled the trigger” I really liked that pipe. Snooze, you lose. Wish I was “Independently Wealthy”.... but then again.....don’t we all?
@RockyMountainBriar - Thanks! I've always been fond of Canadians myself. I found this one on eBay and snagged it for $116 (including shipping). I feel very fortunate to have found my birth year for such a reasonable price (for a Dunhill). Of course, not as great of a deal as @PappyJoe recently found.
MM Washington with a VaPer flake I bought at the local B&M that I’ve cellared for a few years. I’m not a huge fan of VaPers but the aftertaste and beard note keep me coming back.
