It is a backward world when we require the protectors of society to prove themselves continually innocent while trying to reign in the criminal elements which plague society.
The asinine ROE placed on our military is becoming required of our law enforcement people.
@pwkarch The main Axon camera centered on my chest and then we have an in car camera that has to be activated as well and we wear a little mic box for it on our person too. It's a lot of crap to remember to turn on.... Especially under the stress of hot calls. But it's our butts if we don't..... I miss the way the job used to be. Everything is our fault these days, not the criminals.
Smoking an aromatic Fruitcake blend that was gifted to me by a friend who special pressed it. I don't have much of it left, but it was a hit at two different pipe clubs in two different states and the kicker? He didn't write down the recipe
@motie2 You SHOULD keep a record of the ingredients and the amounts lest a great experience goes up in smoke to never be repeated. On the other hand, you could mix and record 14 million concoctions with NO redeeming value and all you would have lost was hundreds of wasted hours of record keeping. That my friend is from what I suffer.....records, records, memos, and notations. Everyone tells me it is the German in me, I just think I am nuts..
@pwkarch -- I have a big jar which currently holds a melange of BCA, VBC, RLP-6, MD, BP, and Trout Stream. No idea of proportions. When you think about it, all these blends have quite compatible flavors. What could be bad? It started out BCA and RLP-6 50/50. Eventually I added two ounces of VBC, and some leftover MD. Later on I added about half an ounce of BP. Finally, a generous dose of Scotty's Trout Stream.
I enjoy smoking this blend and I have enjoyed having it evolve. It's not pure BP, but what the hell..... life is short.
@motie2 I do the same with what I consider scraps. I have a nice stainless steel dish that I will put tobacco out to dry, or several to mix. After awhile one side of the bowl has scraps which I then add to my second scrap jar as the first is filled......I am going to have to try some as there are no dogs in that race. I'll let you know what I think.
@pwkarch I think we all have that Frankenstein blend jar filled with leftover tobacco in the bottom of a tin that isn't enough to fill a bowl ... so we relegate it to that jar. The worst thing about it is when you pull out the jar one day and pack your pipe with that orphan concoction and discover it's possibly the best bowl you've experienced in ages. But you don't know how to replicate it. And the really unfortunate thing is the next bowl from the same jar may taste completely different because now you've got a different combination of blends in the bowl.
Today is my birthday. So after golf, family and friends, I settled in this evening with some Barbados Plantation in a @Corey562 tomato... The perfect end to a perfect day!

Yea, I think I could say “creosote” Latakia.
Surprisingly nice.
