Also just recieved a Tin of East India Trading Co. Royal Challenge, really a nice blend. Like officers club a bit more, but Royal Challenge was worthy.
I don't have a cell phone so I'm unable to get some of those great selfies you guys take while smoking your pipe. So since today was such a nice sunny day I asked my wife if she would snap a few pictures of me smoking my 221B Baker Street Pipe. And what I'm smoking is the delightful Sutliff Sunset Rum. By the end of the photo shoot my wife had me laughing uncontrollably as she moved about kinetically like a New York Fashion Photographer, putting herself in awkward positions to get just the right shot. It was hilarious. In the final photo you'll see I completely lost it.
Thank you @pwkarch for taking the time to respond to my question. I have been enjoying the Creme Brulee for some time now, but as of yet, have not tried or ordered the Vanilla Custard. That will be my next blend. I totally agree with your reply and will take it to heart. Thanks again... Meanwhile, finishing my day with Sutliff Black Cherry in a totally refurbed and modified (extended stem) St. Clair pipe...
@KA9FFJ, by all means try the Vanilla Custard. It's one of the few tobaccos that almost literally makes me hungry when I open the jar and take in the aroma.
Just smoked about 3/4 of a bowl of the Sutliff ZBC blend in my Savinelli Dolomite Prince. I packed this pipe about 15 minutes after the mailman delivered the package. The tobacco was kind of wet and sticky, but had a wonderful aroma. This is not at all intended to be a review as this jar needs to sit and relax awhile before I could fairly judge the merits of the blend. But I will say, I could detect a very nice flavor and aroma, and I loopk forward to taking this for a real test drive in the not too distant future. Please stay tuned for what I predict will be an fun ride.
That bowl followed a bowl of Nording Hunters Blend Labrador about 2 hours prior. What a GREAT blend, so sorry to see it go the way of the McClelland shutdown.
And just for giggles, I also had in the package several ounces of both latakia and perique as I am anticipating branching out beyond my "comfort zone" with my "Frankenblends" this summer.
And finally I am just letting everyone know I am praying for our Motie........
@buflosab Ditto here... Should have been more specific... I gave it about 5 bowls and, after coming to the same conclusion as you, I halved it with Black Cavendish. Much more enjoyable than the original. Won't be getting another tin, but at least I was able to "salvage" what was left of this tin...
