Great pipe, @motie2! I have a Charatan and love how it smokes. One of my two nicest pipes.

OK, gang, I finally found a Charatan online like the one I've questioned above, except with a smooth straight grain finish rather than sandblasted/rustic/whatever. These two, otherwise seem to be the same pipe (I think). The other difference being the price. Mine was a gift from a cherished acquaintance; the other is priced at $375.00.  Egads!!!!!  My next most expensive pipe -- in fact, all the rest of my pipes -- were $20.00 or under, and all are EA Carey's (except for the Duncan Hill, which is sold by EA Carey.)
