@RockyMountainBriar, @PappyJoe; Never tried any of those treats. I did try a Milk bone Dog Biscuit when I was a kid. Frankly, I don't know why my dog liked them so much, they are beyond dry. Maybe they would be better with a glass of milk?
@RockyMountainBriar The tricks with eating live crawfish are: 1. That have to be small. Like you would use for fishing bait. 2. You have to swallow them tail first.
@Londy3 Not much of a story..I found him on EBay and thought he was pretty cool, I might have paid $10? He is apparently a bronze made by a well know person/company in the 50’s. Walter Bosse Herta Baller, 50’s vintage bronze made in Austria. In searches I have made, it seems he is actually an egg cup. He works pretty good for a pipe rest though🙂
Dumped my used 9mm filter and ran a cleaner through my T. Cristiano last night. With a new 9mm filter in place, I loaded some Lane 1-Q and doing a bowl before another visit with my wife's brother this afternoon. Because of his condition, we have to keep our visits short. It's not pretty seeing the affects that agent orange has done from Nam. It took 52 years before the symptoms starting showing up...
Good day fishing yesterday smoking Opening Night in a cob. From 10 am to 1 pm I hooked 8 bass and 2 bluegill, landed 6 bass and 2 bluegill; one bass, unfortunately, went under a log as soon as I hooked him and even though I'm pretty good at negotiating this sort of thing, the line still broke. I caught a glimpse of it swimming away with a brand new freaking Rapala crank bait in its mouth! As soon as my wife got to the dock, they stopped biting for me, but she caught 2 bass and 2 bluegill until we left.
Smoked a bowl of Exotic Orange in my 03 Barley Spigot and a bowl of Espresso in the Iora XL02 Spigot last night. Tonight it’s some Espresso with a pinch of Dark Fired Kentucky in an old WDC Wellington.
Normally, of course, 3 1/2 lbs isn't much, but the lake down the road from me has mostly spotted bass which all but one I caught were and they will usually fight like a large mouth that's a pound heavier. It's a shame, but in most of the southeast (I don't know where you're from) we're seeing more and more lakes become dominated with spotted bass. It's not a really big deal to me--they're a good fight, but on the smaller side; I would love to catch a large mouth lunker (10+ lbs) at some point soon...it's been 5 years since I landed one of those.
@vtgrad2003 Well, I hope you gently released that 3-1/2 pounder so it can grow larger. The largest largemouth I've caught was about 7 lbs. up on Toledo Bend Reservoir between Texas and Louisiana. For decades the two states have had a lunker program where if you bring in a 10 lb. or larger bass live the states give you a fiberglass replica of your fish. The bass are then used at a spawning facility to keep the reservoir stocked. They also have a striped bass spawning facility.
The marsh areas I usually fish for redfish also hold a good number of largemouth bass but we mostly catch ones under three pounds. They do fry up nicely.

Sweet looking pipes, Brother!
Great looking pipe. Sorry to hear that your brother-in-law is failing. You are still in my prayers. God will show mercy, when it is time.

🐈 Kitty pipe stand must have a story.
A little celebratory pipe & bourbon tonight. Grabow with LL7 and a local bourbon I was told to try.
Daughter passed her test and got her temps🎉🥳

Oh wow... So sorry brother. You've been having a rough several weeks to say the least. Praying for you and your family 🙏
Your Brother-in-law is paying a greater price than any of this country's best should have to pay.
A good day of fishing is just... better.
A bad day fishing is still .....wonderful.
Damn straight!
Very nice! And beautiful day for it 🐟
Having some Arango Balkan Supreme in my favorite MM cob.
