So today we checked out a local vineyard and had a blast. Great wine, live music and excellent food from The Redneck BBQ Lab! (Hey, we are in the south) anyhow check out the food truck. The cow is smoking a cob pipe!!
Then I came home to have a pipe to relax this afternoon. Started with some Bed n Breakfast and ended with a nice Virginia because the heat index was 103 degrees!
I'm back with the 221B Baker Street in a Dr Grabow billiard.
@motie2 It is one of the blends I picked up at King Street Emporium. It reminds me of Dunhill Standard Mixture medium but the slight sweetness brings out the subtle flavors. Usually I set aside the lat blends for the summer but this year they seem to work.
@motie2 Thank you, I will wish her your best. I have the same “issue” with my father, he passed away in 1989 when I was 25, hard to imagine what another 10 or 20 years with him would have meant (in a good way). He was 14 years older than my mom. It was the first and only marriages for both, she was 21 and he was 36. Yes, if you do the math, you might consider me a “shotgun wedding” initiator 😳 @pwkarch I will sir, and thank you. My father was drafted at the tail end of WWII and served his stint in Japan. Although, I don’t believe he saw action, he did get the “Ruptured Duck” and was quite proud to have served our country.
Started off the morning reading about everyone's parents, and smoking some Samuel Gawith Cabbie Mixture in my Savinelli 644KS Ghibli. @RockyMountainBriar ~ Happy belated Birthday to your blessed mother. I have praised God for taking both of my parents home years ago, much as I have thanked him for the years he allowed me with them. My father suffered till the end with Alzheimer's, and my mother died two years later of liver cancer. They were wonderful parents and wonderful friends. I miss them terribly and look forward to seeing them again.
I'm savoring every way through a bowl of Sleepy Creek – A mild base of Cavendish with an even amount of cherry and vanilla flavoring in a '96 Boswell bent egg. Even though the casings are even the cherry seems to lead the way
I'm going back to where it all started for me. I'm smoking Prince Albert in a Dr Grabow. The first pipe I bought was in a starter set, Dr Grabow pipe and Prince Albert tobacco with a handy book of instructions at the Ft. Dix PX.
Cleaning the mildew off the front step railings. Enjoying a bowl of EA Carey Irish Creme (sent to me mistakenly/accidentally when I ordered Revolution Tabac) with a pinch of King's FM. BTW, Carey is great at making amends when they screw up.....
Tried something new to me today, I had bought a sample ounce of Sutlif's Queen Ann's Revenge with my last P&C order. Had to spread it out on newspaper to dry for several days as it was unbelievably wet.
I am not much of an aromatic smoker but I must say this was the best aromatic I have ever smoked. In Smaller Bent Jobi
Even though it's hotter than Hades out here, I'm outside burning one. Saaamokin some Peter Stokkebye Luxury English in my Rossi Rubino and an ol local IPA from Carolina Brewing.
That's the actual temp not including heat index which is like 103.

It sounds like you and @motie2 have similar “parent” experiences.
I do.....
On second thought about being like you, I better not as I have an awful time being just me.
A little Latakia goes a long way........ at least for adventurous aromatic smokers such as myself.....
I found this list of best selling pipe tobaccos interesting:

(ie: The Country Squire, PS Blend)
<<If you enjoy the flavor and aroma of tangy rum, but prefer a mellow note rather than a strong taste, Sutliff's Queen Anne's Revenge is ideal for you. >>
On the other hand, if you want a pronounced rum flavor you should try my daily blend, Sutliff Private Stock Barbados Plantation, the best aro I've found thus far.

I'm sipping my way through a bowl of Maltese Falcon on my Peterson military bit.
The weather here is tropical. We had a thunderstorm move through here earlier and it is cooler but more humid.
