After some difficult news I decided what the heck. Opened a very old can of Lane Limited Mountain Leaf and am smoking it in one of my Wiley freehands. Tobacco is old enough there are no warning labels on it anywhere. Update. I've never had Mountain Leaf before so don't know how it is young. But this long aged tin is fabulous. Burns well, very smooth, rich flavor, and not over sweet.
That is one of best part of these posts, discovery, Had to look up Presbyterian mixture, interesting, a blend originating from around the time of WW1, how cool it that.
I have had only two bowls in the last two days. My stage of wanting to try everything has turned into contentment with what I have. A future Country Squire order is probably on the horizon, but I still have quite a bit of Second Breakfast, White Rose, Cornishman & Lowland Pine.
This was from yesterday. Had a wedding in a little town on the intercostal waterway. Found time for a favorite aromatic from my home shop in my Stanwell, my first briar pipe over a dozen years ago.
Decided to try out my Middleton Billiard I just refurbed a few days ago. Stacked the bowl: bottom half = Sutliff Black Cherry, top half = Sutliff Sutset Rum. Definitely got some variety from that smoke...
Starting my day much too early with some C&D Manhattan Afternoon in my little Barracini pot. This thing can't be more than a Dunhill Group 2 in size - but it's a great flake pipe. I can get a good 45 minutes plus out of a bowl.
Past week I've been cycling through the blends I bought at the Gatlin-burlier in Gatlinburg. They are all good but I have to say my two favorites so far are the Cade's Cove Cavendish and the Mellow Moonshine.

That's a fine looking pipe you have there

Currently smoking C&D’s Bayou Morning in the evening, in a cob. Bayou Morning pairs well with a cob.
