New Jersey (or as I like to call it, New Germany) just passed a law outlawing SMOKING (and E Smoking) on any public beach. And as WE both now, anywhere near the ocean the smoke jusy does not hang around to bother anyone. I always liked to take a few cigars to smoke....now I have to wait to get back home. Damn politicians.
@pwkarch - The same People's Republic of New Jersey that forbids doctors to prescribe opioids to folks that really need it.
SWMBO sat in a doctor's office and heard him complain about the state interfering with appropriate, legitimate medical treatments.
Just because some folks get addicted, and some doctors are whores dispensing drugs like M&M's shouldn't mean that people who really need pain meds can't receive them.
Demorats and Repuglicans? A curse on both their houses.
This was the beach in Biloxi, Mississippi. At least this part of the south isn't as screwed up as the liberal democratic socialist republic of New Jersey.
Watching another thunder storm roll by from my front porch while doing some CB Copper in a refurbished paneled acorn. The only stamping on this pipe is, "SPECIAL" on the shank. Any ideas?...
Edward G Robinson Blend in my vintage Tanganyika Meerschaum Pipe. Another great Estate pipe find at a local antique store. Got it for $14.99. The largest and probably heaviest pipe in my collection. Usually takes at least an hour to smoke the whole bowl. And I end up wasting about 1/3 of the bowl because my jaw hurts after about 45 minutes.
@pwkarch no smoking on the beaches pisses me off as well. I usually bring a handful of cigars with me to smoke through out the day but now that's all changed. Just don't understand why the state banned smoking on the beaches.
"The answer my friend is blowing in the wind" (thank you Bob Zimmerman).....PC. Which I actually think at times the acronym stands for PROFOUND CRAP. I was born on the beach block in Atlantic City, and have lived near the beach my entire life except while in the Navy I was then on the wetter side of the beach (so to speak). I will tell you without hesitation I NEVER was bothered by smoke. The beach can almost be guranteed to be at least breezy if not windy.....that is part of the draw that gets you people from Philly and such to come down and spend your dollars.
Ask anyone you know who is a beach goer how hard it is (usually) to light ANY type of smoking instrument on ANY beach here in the upper latitudes.
C&D Star of the East flake in a Don Florian pipe I took a chance on purchasing from the maker on e-bay. I mention the purchase because while the guy gets great wood for his pipes, he is a lousy pipemaker, the stem fit was terrible to the point I made a new stem. The draft hole is a good 1/8 above the bottom of the bowl. It smokes ok and is one of my (work) pipes now.
Had a day off in between my crazy travel schedule so I decided to take a walk through 18 holes. Took my Bones pipe with some Peterson Sweet Killarney. It was a great day! Cheers all!
In honor of my good buddy @motie2 I'm smoking my Carey Magic Inch. It was my very first Estate Pipe purchase. My tobacco is East India Trading Company Cellar Reserve.
I’ve a little Lane Vanilla Black Cav going before bed. Such good stuff if you like a sweet smoke and yet only Smokingpipes seems to carry it among my main dealers.
MFRESA The C&D Star of the East was quite excellent, thank you for asking. C&D offers it in three forms, bulk, tined which they seem to use a better grade of tobacco and the flake which is also tined, and in my humble opinion is the best. If you like English / Balkan blends I encourage you to try it. The taste is a lbit unique within the style
This evenings before bed selection is also a c&d blend that I am trying for the first time. It's called Rajhas Court, the tin smelled good when opened, we"ll see. Smoked in a Briar Works poker that came as part of my entry in the slow smoke contest at this year's Chicago Pipe show. Was my first time, did not do all that well, however I did win a 2 oz tin of tobacco and get to keep the pipe so what could be bad. What was interesting was the Russians who traveled to the show just to enter the contest. They ultimately won 1st & 2nd. 1 hour and 45 minutes with just 3 grams of tobacco, amazing, they really work the tamper.

Have you inquired about medical marijuana? Just a thought, and I think it is now legal in New Germany?
Balkan Sasieni in my Ewa Classic
