Thanks, @Corey562 , it is my first sitter. I know you are low on blocks, I can let you borrow a couple if you need them right away. They are large mimmos. You can give me a couple when your shipment comes in.
I have been working on this reject block I got from Virginia Freehand for a bit. Not expecting some grand piece, but I’m hoping this will lead me to another avenue on my tobacco journey. Helps my mind stay focused too.
@Corey562 thanks! It’s definitely gonna take awhile. I’m using all hand tools for now. Chisel set from my uncle, sand paper, whittling knife. The mini planer my dad gave me has helped with to round out the edges. It’s one of those “one day at a time” type of projects.
@Corey562, I'm using the two part epoxy, I think they call it "5 minute glue" cuz it's supposed to set up in 5 minutes and cure in about 12 hours. It worked the first time, but I torqued it off while fitting the stem, and when I reglued it it didn't take. This is the third time I'm glueing it, and I sanded both surfaces clean prior to doing it. Hope it holds.
If it was me I would over drill the hole a little bit and fit the 2 parts together with a small brass tube if what you are doing does not work let me know and I will make you a video of what I am talking about. It is how I attach my bamboo stems and it seems to hole pretty well.@mfresa.
LOL @KA9FFJ, yes, I see what you mean. It has a Celtic/Scottish knot pattern around it. The customer is of Scottish descent, and asked me to put it on there.
