My wife is an artist and she's a Deplorable, so is her friend who is one of the most well known equine artists in the country. That said, if she wants to sell paintings or has a showing, she keeps her mouth shut for obvious reasons.
So I did this mixed media today. Thought I liked it but now I don't. Wasted 2 hours of a Sunday afternoon 😞 At least it made have a couple pipes outside to relax.
I finished rebuilding another Crosman 140 .22 pellet gun today. I had to make the stainless steel Breech pin that was missing and I modified the bolt to a “pin” type with a brass pin. I completely re-sealed it, re-blued the parts that needed it, and top-coated the stock. I didn’t want to completely sand it down and stain it. It still has that “slightly used” patina. The two pictures of the “parts” are shown before I re-blued them. This one was made in April of 1967.
Another little project finished. I bought this old “Handy-Andy Pipe Tool” made by/for U.S. TOB. CO. I figured it was broken or? as there was no tamper which I would expect it to have. Anyway, I found a picture of a complete one on the interwebs and indeed, mine was missing the tamper/poker. I thought about buying a cheap pipe tool and using it for a donor tamp/pick, then I decided to just make one from scratch. It would probably look more like an original part too. 1) cut and form the pick 2) cut the slot in the tamper foot 3) rough out the tamper foot shape 4) peen over the pick bottom end to secure the tamper disc 5) file the disc close to round 6) use my lathe and grinder attachment to make the disc round 7) insert “new” pick/tamper in the spoon/body ready for use👍🏻
Keep painting while smoking your pipe, and we can start making references to Norman Rockwell... Perhaps a self portrait of you peeking around your easel is in your near future?...😏
First of all, I wouldn’t let the freaking media in to “make them famous”. Then I think there is a suitable place or two for that soup can….leave the lid bent out and sharp as heck. They look like gender binary fluid monkey pumpers…or whatever the PC term is? They can probably take a sharpened soup can and enjoy it.
Did a house concert yesterday with amazing musicians. One is a world renowned violinist from London, even played for the queen.
Warming up!
I'm not allowed to post any pics or video of the event, only pics of me. Sorry, I was hoping you can hear a clip ☹️ Was a really good night, full house and we killed it!

Very nice. I at first thought that it was an old style, film black & white photo made in a photo darkroom and not on a computer
I'm no art critic, but in me humble opinion, that is flat ass beautiful.
I concur with that “profile” of artists, and the exception.

Wow, very nice!
You really are a genius!
He really is. But he hides it well 😁

You should change your name to VanLondy3.

I laughed at @KA9FFJ 's comment, but it really ain't a bad idea, now that I think about it.
I'd lock up and leave them alone. They are going to have to pee at some point.
