@vtgrad2003 HaHa….Taco John? is the guy that started the “Taco John’s” taco restaurants, I guess? They started in Wyoming, I’m not sure how many states even have them, definitely a Western US franchise. They say they coined “Taco Tuesday”. I think Taco Bong (Bell) is still trying to use the phrase without stepping on trade mark rights. Dang, now I want tacos, hot picante sauce, guacamole, and chips and cheese😋

2023 Taco Bell lawsuit over "Taco Tuesday" trademark
Taco John's owns the trademark to the phrase "Taco Tuesday".[41] On May 16, 2023, Taco Bell filed a petition with the United States Patent and Trademark Office to revoke Taco John's trademark on "Taco Tuesday" in advertisements.[42][43][41] In the petition, Taco Bell claimed Taco Tuesday was a commonplace saying and legally unavailable for trademark.[43] Taco Bell is not seeking any damages from Taco John's.[43]
In Taco John's response, CEO Jim Creel sarcastically retorted, "I'd like to thank our worthy competitors at Taco Bell for reminding everyone that Taco Tuesday is best celebrated at Taco John's."[43]
I'll bet $100 that somewhere in the U.S. there's a Taco Juan's Taco Juan's needs to sue Taco John's while Taco John's is suing Taco Bell...they can call it the "Taco Wars" !!!
The phone rang this morning from an unidentified number so I just let the answering machine do its thing. (Yes, I still have a landline tied to an answering machine.) Anyway, the machine answered with my pre-recorded message asking them to leave a message and the individual actually ignored the message and said, "Hi! Is the lady of the house available?"
I was sorely tempted to answer the phone with "Yes, I am may I help you."
I would have except my wife was standing next to me and said "Don't you dare."
@PappyJoe; I got a call years ago from an older lady(you could tell by her voice) stating Doctor so-in-so was going to be in our area the next week. She wanted to know if my wife would like a free hearing test. I told her my wife could hear just fine, she just didn't listen. The old gal hung up on me. I'm the only person I know that has been hung up on by a telemarketer.
I started working from home about three years before my wife retired from her job. In those days, I got hung up on by telemarketers quite often after making rude or suggestive comments to them.
My old Quantitative Techniques prof in grad school would not except any research statistics in which the proven value of n < 1,200. This is the standard in hard science. Geography being a field of study that is both a natural as well as a social science, he insisted that any sampling or survey have 1,200 proven good samples or properly competed questionnaires. Whatever the collection methodology of the data collection, the data had come from a population of 1,200 entities. So we damn well had to use a population of more than 1,200 to be safe.
It's bad enough that the news media regularly reports polls and surveys to the public that my prof would not accept for his classes. They usually deal with soft data. But in studies like these, it's reprehensible to present them to the public as science. Often they do give confidence limits, but what validity does it have to run the confidence interal value formula with insufficient data. Except of course to con an ignorant public. "We'll back with more about this after these messages."
I bet the AI algorithms that wrote the article strives for as much data as it can get at the time of any of the millions of choices it must make. And I doubt that those algorithms that profession speed traders use an n < 1,200. Of course there are usually more than 1.2K other entities, human or cyber, trading most stocks

I had to stop when my wife stayed home.
Ain't the truth!
Hmmm that answers a lot of questions for me growing up.
Didn't intend to bring back any bad memories.
Who said they were bad memories?
One should never assume.
Exactly.
