@vtgrad2003 One of my sons played rugby for awhile in his college years. It wasn't a college affiliated team but one that mostly comprised of college students. They also had a women's rugby team. I saw them play a number of times and while there were some women on the team who were as in your picture, the majority looked more like @Zouave photo. At least before the match started. The winning team would remove their jerseys and run around the pitch.
@Zouave Is she actually a volleyball player though?
@vtgrad2003 If basketball uniforms were the same as beach volleyball……damn…..think of those poor girls when the skid across a waxed, varnished, wood gym floor court😖😳. Ouchie!
@vtgrad2003 I could have my stories mixed up it's been years. I think there were Police reports of him tying her to a chair or some crap like that. Not to make light of domestic abuse, but she sucks.
The most amazing thing started my day. I was a subscriber of Pipes and Tobaccos Magazine which ran from 1996 to 2019. I saved every issue. If you are unfamiliar with the publication it was a class undertaking. Great articles, great photography and the editorials were informative and entertaining. I had signed up for several years in advance, so I wouldn't miss any issues. The owner/publisher was Dayton Matlick apparently a wealthy lover of pipes. The magazine lost money every year it was in print, but Mr. Matlick supported the the magazine for a small but loyal base of subscribers. Chuck Stanion was the editor for several years, but had left to work for Smokingpipes.com about a year before P&T folded. When I got the news of the last issue, I was crushed. P&T had become a big part of my life and I miss it to this day. I assumed that the advanced subscriptions I had paid for would be gone forever along with the magazine. When i opened this mornings mail, there was a check for $67.15, a refund for my advanced subscriptions. It is an incredible thing, in this day and age, that an organization would honor those that had supported their product, two years after the fact. Mr Dayton Matlick is an honest and honorable man.
Our Golden Corral closed at the beginning of the “Rona” “Pandemic”. I miss that place. Even before the “pandemic”, I think younger people were afraid to eat at a buffet…and still are. We also lost the lunch buffet at “Villiage Inn Pizza”, luckily the joint is still in business. Man they make a mean thin crust pizza.
@RockyMountainBriar Back when I was a production director for Piccadilly Cafeteria(s), GC was one of our biggest competitors. I used to pay employees to go get jobs with GC, then when they stole enough of their recipes, quit and bring them to us; I'm sure they did the same with us as well. We stole recipes from Applebee's too. Had a worker for us in one of our Charleston units get caught taking pictures of some of our more popular dishes...our kitchen staff locked him in the refrigerated walk-in until his "other boss" at TGIF came and picked him up.
@RockyMountainBriar Yep, and it's worse actually, especially among so called "family restaurants". The profit margins are only between 5% and 8%. At one of my Augusta units, we actually had 160 lbs of block cheddar stolen from us when there was a temporary shortage from the suppliers because of a bacterial recall; we had some left from a previous order stored in a walk-in near the back door. We frequently traded with other restaurants in the area when one was short on something, but we held onto this stock at our unit. One day an assistant manager from a Cracker Barrel called and wanted some steak and cheddar, so the unit production manager told him to come by and pick up the steak, but he couldn't have any of the cheddar. Later that day it was discovered 100 lbs of the cheddar was gone and our cameras picked up the other manager putting it in his trunk. The unit manager at our restaurant called me and asked if he should call the police and I told him not to but to threaten it in return for 15 top sirloin butts--the unit manager at CB didn't balk at all and we sent a guy over to pick up our cheddar and those 15 butts! It pays to have surveillance behind your restaurant!
@PappyJoe Don't tell me that! I haven't watched it yet!!! 🤣 From now on when you post updates, start off with "Update on Curling!" and then scroll down about 6" before you start writing so I can't see it! LOL. (I have Peacock on Firestick, so it saves all the reruns.)
@PappyJoe Those moguls are fun but they hurt me to watch them, I don't know about you, but my knees would blow out before I even got to the first mogul!

My wife played for Virginia Tech rugby...she was the only one on the team that wasn't a lesbian--and I'm serious about that.

I never heard that! What's the story on that?
I haven't checked, but back issues may be available. If you are interested.
I just checked and it appears that they no longer sell back issues. They may be available on eBay.
Great story. Guess there are still a few good businessmen out there.

I would never have though the chain restaurant business was that cut-throat in stealing recipes😳

The U.S. Mixed Curling team won their first curling match in the Winter Olympics 6 -5 over Australia.

That said...USA, USA, USA, USA!!!!!
I can't help it if you live in a cave...
I won't tell you about the other matches they played.
You can also see events on Youtube. I watched the Women's Moguls this morning.
Those moguls are fun but they hurt me to watch them, I don't know about you, but my knees would blow out before I even got to the first mogul!
Maybe I'm just waiting for the crashes.
