@KA9FFJ@buflosab Thank you both. And I think I'll be using The Bagpiper BadgerPiper for the videos I make for piping.
Also, I'm friends with @Michael308 on facebook. I haven't seen any recent updates, but I'll send him a message and let him know the forum is thinking about him.
Hey everybody. Sorry for being MIA for a while. Between work, advanced training on days off, trying to keep up with the selling of our house, and of course baby Addilyn and my pregnant wife I just haven't been able to find the time to get on like I used to. So a little update for everyone, my house sold last week so we have some breathing room for now. Huge amount of stress off my shoulders. We also had our gender reveal last week and we are having another little girl. I appreciate everybody's concern! I hope all of you and your family are doing well!
@Michael308 great to hear from you. All excellent news. Big congratulations for your new addition. Change is good for you. May God continue to bless you and the family.
@Michael308 It is great to not only hear from you, but to know that our prayers have been answers. Your news was well worth waiting for. I too have not enjoyed a pipe for awhile, but will fire one up around the first of May. Keep on keepin on, my brother!
Any of y’all have any expeience with “beta blockers”? My cardiologist has added one to my three other heart meds. No side effects with years on them. Anything expected with beta blockers?
I was on three or more heart meds and didn't tolerate any of them. I believe the beta blockers either raised my potassium into the danger zone or caused muscle weakness. Check out the possible side effects on webmd.com or rxlist.com. In my experience adverse effects can begin many months after starting a treatment and that can lead to an additional drug and so on and so on. I've stopped everything except furosemide and an anti clotting script. Most recently simvastatin started causing restless leg disorder. When fractions of a gram can cause major changes in a 70 to 100 kilogram person caution is necessary.
I received my second Covid vaccination yesterday. Waiting to see if there are any of the side effects this time. First time I didn't have anything more than a sore arm for a day or two.
Got my second shot last Friday at the Lewiston VA Clinic. To be honest, they were really good, as I didn't even feel the needle going in either time. So far, no evident side effects happening to me.
Had second shot a few weeks ago, I was fine untill about 12-16 hours later then I felt like I was stuck in a full blown hangover. Manageable....but not fun.
No shots, except for some bourbon and tequilas, and I feel as fine as .999 Sterling Silver. By the way, silver, and copper are natural anti-microbials.
I did a couple rounds of 115 proof bourbon like @RockyMountainBriar did. That should do it for me and at that proof level, it will kill anything. This method does however require weekly boosters 🤪
I'm getting my second Pfizer shot Tuesday. The first one made me sleep for most of the second day post vaccine which was a piece of cake compared to a year ago when I believe I had the virus. After recovering from the illness i decided to follow precautions and get the vaccine when it became available. The thought of being on a ventilator and feeling anger towards the person(s) who passed it to me and wondering how many people I killed by passing it on made it easy to wear a mask and to get a vaccine so I can be comfortable enjoying interactions without a mask.
I listened to one of the Maine CDC last Thursday, and they described that bit of lousy feeling some of us get after the shots as being analagous to our bodies reacting to our immune systems rebooting with the new virus-hunting information locked and loaded.
Exactly. Having a reaction like that is evidence that the vaccine and your body are both acting in a correct manner. Note, however, that not having such a reaction is not evidence that things are somehow amiss. Your mileage may vary.

Sure would like to know how he and his family are doing...

Great to hear.
How's the piping going?
