I guess I need to be careful of my critiques of Werner Mummert pipes; I was at an annual outing / party yesterday just north of Kenosha Wis at the Stem and Briar which is a pipe repair / making shop / home.
During dinner we were having a discussion of various pipe makers and Werner Mummert's name was mentioned because of his unconventional designs and to my surprise a fellow CPCC member we rarely see who was in attendance pulled out a couple of his pipes.
Never thought I would actual see any of his pipes.
On a side note, Jamie the owner of Stem and Briar https://www.stemandbriar.com/
has literally thousands of used pipes, many from 40s, 50s and the 60s at reasonable prices, there were a number of restorers there buying many pipes and parts,
Jamie has over 30,000 new stems in stock in 160+ styles. In addition he has a number of old pipe making machines from the early 1900's. It was a fun outing.
On the ride home at about 9:30 pm and as we were coming up on the exit for Kenosha my wife and I simultaneously received one of those disaster warning tones on our phones with an accompanying text message not to travel east of the interstate toward Kenosha due to rioting, was very surreal moment
I tried to get a nice Pete Natural or Supreme POY 2020. I got the heads-up for SP.Com and in less than 6 minutes they were all gone I guess that is the downfall of living in the "sticks" as far as interned is concerned. I kept getting booted off of the site.....until they were all gone that is. There had to be 75-100 POY's in all finishes that went up today on SP.com and there were only thirteen left just a bit ago. Probably all gone by now? That place moves some briars.
@jfreedy, nice Pete, gorgeous grain. The only Kramer's I've tried is Father Dempsey which at the time I found a bit heavy in Latakia, but, tastes change and I'll give it another shot.
@motie2 Yea, I have resisted my PAD on those Rattray’s barrels. They are the second best barrel pipes I have seen. @Corey562 barrel pipes being numero uno.

”Return the plastic parts for recycling when no longer needed”? WOW that is some green-spin there.

Doesn't take away from the pipe... Very nice...

I've seen antique meerschaums like that but they were well out of my price range. One was valued at $7,500.
Happy Peterson System Pipe Day!!
I’m smoking my very favorite Pete, a Standard System 302.
Beautiful straight grain.....
You won the woodgrain lotto on that standard Pete.
Fill with any ordinary Virginia or Burley, place in an airtight container open in 10 years to enjoy a phenomenal barrel aged treat?
