@motie2 I'd put John Carpenter's "The Thing" right up alongside "ALIEN" as my favorite horror flick. Somewhere in that list would also be "The Exorcist".
@ghostsofpompeii Joe, for years I have reread the original version that I have in an antique set of books by famous American authors. I love that story from when it was first read to me in 4th or 5th grade. I have seen every movie and TV version, and I absolutrly agree with your pick as favorite. The scene in the cemetery when the Ghost of Christmas Future stands over Scrooge while he dusts the snow off of his grave marker.....is one of my favorite scenes evert in movies or TV. George C. Scott was brilliant.
@ghostsofpompeii - The George C. Scott version is one of my top 3 favorite versions of "A Christmas Carol". The 1951 version starring Alastir Sims is probably my favorite. I also like the Patrick Stewart version. What I don't like are the versions where the make the Scrooge character a woman or where they change the settings.
With all the new members which have joined after my initial post I thought it would be a good time to bump it back up for those who may have missed it. I know we're at day 16 ... but you might go back to page one and start at the beginning. Especially if you're a horror fan.
@ghostsofpompeii; Great idea. I joined after the fact, so I missed the first viewing. Looking forward to it. Also, good to see you back. Missed you, Brother.
I was trying to post a link for Saun of the dead but the stupid site won't let me without approval. Great movie for this time of year. Cracks me up every time I watch it.
