So @jfreedy I thought your image was a Photoshoped con until I saw the info from Hormel's site,
Might not be as bad as it sounds, still there is the issue of it not being in stores, and, as a long time occasional consumer I'll just say I prefer my pumpkin spice in pies.or a latte.
@paulwansing You bet I'm interested. I love all things Halloween. I'm already setting movies aside for our annual Oktoberfest Couch Potato Film Festival at my Yahoo groups Creature Features and The Secret Cinema.
@ghostsofpompeii please let me know how you like the videos, i have a few others of Salem and southern new england on the youtube page as well. All three parade videos should last a full pipe of your favorite autumn blend!
Thought I'd bump this up to the front page for the new members who may have recently joined. For those newcomers go to page one and follow through the 31 days of Halloween. Also it would be nice to see a few new Halloween themed pipe photos as well from others.
@paulwansing If you attend the Halloween Parade this year post those pictures and videos as well. I find them quite enjoyable. I love it when a town celebrates Halloween or any holiday for that matter. Shows Community Spirit and the type of Norman Rockwell Americana we all hope for our neighborhoods.
@ghostsofpompeii Hi Joe.....are you going to photo those awesome setups as you did previously? I enjoyed them SO much as I know everyone here did. And the new members have something to look forward to that definately spoke Halloween. Hope all is well with you.
@ghostsofpompeii The parade is tomorrow night, I will once again film it (the whole thing this time) and post to my YouTube page. I am also going to do photos and walking tour videos of the downright amazing decorating in Salem. I am glad you liked last years posts but I plan to do a much more thorough job of showing Salem in all its October glory!
On another note I hope to do several videos of the autumn color that we have here in Rhode island over the course of the month, might even get to southeastern Connecticut and take some shots by the Mystic river
Got a great B&M shop down the highway in Siloam Springs, Arkansas (about 20 min from my house) called Ash and Ember. The owner, Joe, is a great guy (and tobacconist) who likes to show off his wares.
The parade is posted @ghostsofpompeii. Funny thing, everyone thought my pipe was part of a costume! Thousands of people every year and I have only met one other pipe smoker in salem. Several cigar smokers and of course a ton of people vaping but us pipe smokers are a rare sight
I was wondering if anyone, other than horror geeks like myself, dedicate the month of October to watching horror films? I've been doing this for so long I can't even remember when the tradition started. Probably back when I was a kid. Certainly as long as I've had access to home video equipment and VHS tapes or DVDs and Blu-Ray discs.
As far back as I can remember I've collected movies (primarily horror flicks), in one format or another. Even back when the only format available for collectors was 8mm, Super 8, or 16 millimeter films from companies like Castle Films. Back then you could get either a 50 ft. highlight reel - which was about a three or four minute version of a movie, or what they advertised as the 'complete' version, which was really nothing more than a 200 ft. version that lasted about 12 minutes. Yet I have to give props to the people who edited down those old Universal Horror Classics like Frankenstein, The Mummy, Dracula, The Wolf Man, and The Invisible Man series ... as well as the Universal sci-fi classics of the 50s'. Those in charge of the editing process managed to squeeze the best moments into a cohesive 12 minute film. Leaving the viewer completely satisfied. This was a real testament to the talent of those Castle film editors.
Even back when I was about 12 years old I'd have the neighborhood kids over on the days leading up to Halloween and we'd be watching the 8mm movies projected on a white sheet in the basement. I may have only owned about two dozen films - but we'd watch them over and over - never tiring of them.
You can imagine what a treat it was for me when the video cassette recorder came on the scene and I was finally able to purchase complete versions of these classic films. Before you know it I had a library of both classic horror flicks ... and not so classic flicks that only someone like me could sit through.
I just watched The Wolf Man. Hadn’t seen it since I was a kid. I was amazed how many scenes had pipe smokers in it. Ah... the good old days.... pipes... werewolves...

The key word in your post, above, is "Might."
OTOH, pumpkin spice Spam "might" be an abomination.

There is also a Spam Museum for all things Spam! Making a pilgrimage to visit is on my bucket list.
