@xDutchx I love trains! Still have my first Lionel trains and have added to the collection throughout the years. Have been into trains since age seven.
@Charles, I'm sure I am not the only one who would enjoy seeing some pics of your other hobby. When you have time, you should start a model train thread.
@KA9FFJ, thanks for the kind words. I make the labels and it's sooo easy. My labels are lose and not sticking to the lid by design, so I can switch it out at anytime. Measure the lid from edge to edge from where the ring hits it when screwed on, that's your design size but cut the label out to fit the actual lid. Make a template in Word using the circle tool. You can make six labels per sheet. Next, search on Google images the tins you want then paste them in the template and adjust the size of the tin image to fit the size you measured. After the art is complete, print them and use clear packing tape and cover the images. This protects the image, provides a nice shine and gives the paper more support and strength. That's about it, see it's so easy!
My Marshall practice amp is for my mandolin, my electric mandolin and used to play back recordings and backing tracks to layer over. I also play piano and B3 Hammond.
Nice @Londy3 I really like the idea of the labels being switchable and not permanent. Good thinking and I think it might be something I might try to emulate a little down the road.
I used to have a modest studio where I used keyboards/synthesizers and a Alvarez classical guitar for recording my compositions. The genre was New Age / New age Jazz and was strictly instrumentals. I thoroughly enjoyed laying tracks and creating my own music. I produced and album just for grins. It barely did ok on the west coast, and a few of my songs were played through linked college campus radio stations across Canada. Don't get me wrong, the album didn't get anywhere, but that is not why I produced it. It was a "bucket list" project. Some of my songs may still be floating out there even though it was over 10 years ago. The name of the album was "Neverending Dream". Anyway, it was a fun project.
I have a good friend I graduated with (we still play golf together almost every week) and we sometimes get together and do a little jamming with other friends. His forte is Blue Grass, along with most the other guys. We live near St. Louis, and Branson is only 4 hours away. With the greatest proficiency he plays: guitar, 12 string, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and started out as a very good drummer! When groups come in at Branson and need a fill-in, he is one of the few that gets called. He really is something to watch and listen to. Oh well, enough off-topic posting. Thought you might find it interesting...
@KA9FFJ, that's so awesome! Thanks for sharing. I also written and produced an album some time ago. It was something I just wanted to do and was highly encouraged to do so. It's original solo piano stuff. Pretty mellow but very dark, more emotional grabbing and melodic. These days, I play mandolin (acoutsic & electric) and recently added a Cajon to my mix. Been doing old stuff, Dylan, blue grassy stuff, folk rock and my own music. It's fun when you can bring your instrument wherever you go unlike the piano!
Here's a prototype single rack I'm making. Needs sanding, staining, buffing, etc. But you get the idea. Found the bottom plate at Goodwill for a quarter...
Some of you guys look like you have enough to start your own brick & mortar shop. I prefer to keep the majority of my tobacco out of sight of anyone who might start complaining about how much I have.
@mfresa- If you look closely at the hinges of the Dunhill, you will note that they are made of wood and are part of the wood members, not a separate component. They are one of the many elements that I find intriguing. That cabinet is truly a piece of fine craftsmanship and something that I would like to own and proudly display.
The stash. This doesn't include what is sitting on my desk where SWMBO can see it. The desk drawer: (a little anemic because I moved 4 jars to the New Orleans Pipe Club locker where we hold our meetings.)
The filing cabinet: Not pretty but functional.
The footlocker. She bought me this box for Christmas a couple of years ago. It is kept out of sight under my desk.

Mine is much more eclectic. It's a combination of ebay, estate & antique store finds.....
@Londy3 I love how you label your mason jar lids. That's really neat and, having them stored inside a drawer, they are easily recognizable.
Side question: What's that amp hooked up to?... Guitar? Bass? Keyboard?... Fill me in...

Easy winter project to help pass the time.
