I'm 82 years old and ALL my friends are gone except one who still lives. I called him during the the 2nd Obama term to decide where and when we would meet as we live 6 hours apart. We spoke politics and we haven't spoken since. I was a Proctor of Pipe Chat which was international and and lots of fun. Someone suggested a Soap Box where we could voice our opinions which was emplaced, within 6 months it was so shredded due to politics and died due to it. I'm sure you have heard " Two things to never talk about are Religion an Politics.". I hope you'll understand my trepidation about this site.
I have a Palsy that makes typing a frustrating chore which is the reason that you haven't heard from me so often, it took me over 20 minutes to type this.
I'm still around and often visit to see what's going on.
I hope you all had a "Gude Yule" andhave a great 2024.

If you want to stay out of the politics, which I totally understand, I try to steer clear as well, DO NOT open this thread, no matter how much your curiosity pulls at you.🙂 OR…if you do, expect the worst and be prepared for any “views” expressed.

I respect the right of one to state their view, whether I agree or not isn't important. I wish you good health. Keep posting. It is good to hear from someone that is older than I am. Like the shenanigans or not, this is still my country! I hope that people realize, before it’s too late, that things should be different. Getting free stuff, handouts, special treatment, etc. is great, but can only last so long. Contrary to some people’s beliefs, we still do not live in a utopia and somebody has to work to feed, clothing, and shelter. Sooner or later, those of us that work and pay our fair share of taxes are going to say F’ It and opt for the “free” government money too. Then where will we all be?
