@RockyMountainBriar No telling when that photo was taken. The Eagle is usually underway from early April though August each year with cadet training cruises. From what I remember, it usually undergo maintenance or shipyard availability in the late fall through winter.
I was sitting on my couch this morning sipping my flat white and I heard a muffled kind of boom that rattled the windows and shook the house a bit….WTH? Then three more in the next 30 seconds or so WTH? I went outside to check it out and an F5 was overhead….ahh…the air show…sonic booms. I had never heard one, that I can recall. I mentioned yesterday that the “Blue Angels” were in town for the air show….
@RockyMountainBriar I found out that if I take the car to the roof of the parking garage at the airport, I can watch the airshow for $7 instead of the $20 it costs to get into the show. I may be cheep, but I know where the good seats are.
Not sure where to post this. I've been going to a pain specialist every 3 months +/- for steroid injections in my lower back. When the injection wears off, I can only walk a few steps before the pain gets so intense that I have to stop. Nothing over the counter helps. Oxy and Hydro don't help and have side effects worse than the back pain. I have two vertebra pushing on my spinal cord and another that is twisted. Surgery isn't an option. I have found that the only thing that gives me relief from the worse pain I've ever experienced in my life is Diclofenac. Because it is hard on the kidneys, my doctor only gave me enough to get me to my next injection. Well, things are looking up, Brothers. My wife's dog that always tries to bite me, got hit by a car.
@opipeman That sucks….your back pain, not the vicious dog (karma’s a bitch….even for dogs apparently). So far, I have been lucky, no serious aches and pains. My knees act up occasionally (the right one is missing the ACL)….you would think that knee would be less likely to act up🤔. I do get lower back pain after shoveling snow, etc., but it’s just because I’m a lazy ass and need to exercise more. I “popped out”my right shoulder 8-10 years ago lifting the overhead door at work. It makes it tough to lift any real weight above shoulder height. So, nothing debilitating for me yet, but I’m still a young punk, according to you old geezers😬

Sometimes me Irish story telling gets a little creative. That may be why folks that know me well never believe anything I tell them. Thought you could use a smile or two.

Or ends? Look at all the drones that Ukraine and Russia are employing already. It’s kinda scary. I just hope our drones can kick “their” drones asses before “their” drones can get to us.

No. I’ve been on her a few times and photographed her underway, but was never stationed on her.
