They have to provide an ID for cashing checks, getting food stamps, using medicare, buying booze or cigarettes (some places I get carded and I'm 70) and other things and no one complains.
Providing ID to vote is an undue burden preventing minorities from voting though.
It's difficult not to know my political affiliation. I drive a big truck (F250) as opposed to all the Priuses and CRV's in my reserved lot which is right in front of the college of business' front door, I'm openly pro-global warming (it lengthens my fishing season), I have a Smith & Wesson sticker on the back of my truck, I have a Bigfoot sticker on the back of my truck, I fish and own an RV, AND I teach Classical economics (as opposed to Keynesian economics). Anyone with a brain would know I'm a conservative...I don't need to announce it.
Big question though, do I try to "indoctrinate" my students to the conservative way of thinking? Actually, no. Do they predominantly think that way anyway? Actually, yes, they do, they're just too afraid to say it out loud, but my classroom gives them the space they need to open up about it without ridicule, so I feel I'm doing them a service, not a disservice.
Do I have liberal students in my class? Of course I do. Do I prevent them from voicing their opinion without ridicule? Definitely not, in fact, I encourage it and I won't tolerate any form of ridicule for it--I shut it down instantly.
Economics is inherently an opinionated and political discipline; without freedom of thought in my classroom, which by definition exposes political affiliation, it's hard to teach it properly...especially at the university level.
To me, "indoctrination", by definition almost, means that I would intimidate and grade students based upon their political/sociological beliefs...and many faculty do, but I don't...and I take pride in that.
If you leave the gate open, the cow will wander off. So, if you intentionally leave the gate open, you want the cow to wander off.
You can't blame stupidity or laziness. It was intentional.
If you cut police budgets, you will get more crime on the streets. So, if you intentionally cut police budgets, you wanted more crime on the streets.
If you cut back the supply of oil, gas prices will go up. So if you intentionally cut back the supply of oil, you wanted gas prices to go up.
If you print trillions of dollars without increasing the supply of goods, inflation will hit hard. So if you intentionally print trillions of dollars without more goods you want inflation to hit hard.
If you leave the southern border wide open, you get more drug trafficking and human trafficking. So if you intentionally leave the border wide open, you want more drug trafficking and human trafficking.
If you shut down 40% of the supply of baby formula in February, you'll get a huge shortage. When you KNOW a huge baby formula shortage is coming because of the FDAs actions and you purposefully do nothing to prevent it, month after month, until the crisis finally hits hard, you INTEND this crisis.
It is time to recognize the evil people behind that old man. They want a crisis. They want chaos. They want riots. They want conflicts in your town.
Their stated purpose years ago with Obama was to "take the US down a few notches on the world stage." You can feel the quality of your life going down with the country.
These are not foolish or misguided people. They are intentionally and purposely taking our country somewhere we don't want to go..
What the hell are foreigners doing all up in our shit? If some US citizens were detained/charged with domestic terrorism, then the damn foreigners should be charged with terrorism.
LOL, I agree, there were a few from France and Canada, but also other foreign countries like the Soviet Republic of Massachusetts and the United Soviet Republic of New York I've been arguing for years that the People's Republic of Northern States need to stay up North!
@vtgrad2003 there is still a few of us Red Dawn New Yorkers up here. 😂 The only thing that keeps me up here is my fear of snakes and bugs the size of my fist.
I know what you mean. When I lived in Augusta for a while, on the first day I moved there, there was a forest roach the size of my hand inside my bedroom!
Not a copperhead...those things will chase your ass down in a heartbeat. I've been chased by probably a half dozen in my life; all other breeds? You're exactly right, but not with copperheads. Sometimes water moccasins will chase my boat if I'm trolling a bank, but they usually give up pretty quick if you splash some water or turn the main engine on.
@Zouave God, I haven't heard reference to the 'northern democrats' in years. Anyway, they were pushers of peace between the states (I think they wanted a negotiated settlement between the north and south); exactly how they got the name Copperheads, I have no idea although as peaceniks, their behavior certainly wouldn't align with the snake Copperhead.
@vtgrad2003; Tucker is a bulldog. It will be interesting to see what he uncovers and how deep the corruption goes. I hope heads roll, but it's the deep state and justice seldom results.
No shit, seriously...and democrats applaud this crap...I always thought they were for women's rights...so, now it's clear, they are indeed anti woman. It's imperative to win the next presidential election to put a (temporary) stop to this crap.

Otherwise, it is indoctrination.
In general, you're probably correct, but...

There is a difference between snakes and democrats. Snakes will leave you alone, if you don't bother them.
