Tonight, a mixture of BlackHouse, Sasieni, and Gaslight (equal proportions, in my original EA Carey apple from the Summer of '69. Great smoke to dry white ash at bottom of bowl. That doesn't happen with BP. The mixture smoked cool, with no bite. However, after coming out on the rear deck, SWMBO commented, "That stinks." I taught her the term, "Lat Bomb."
Smoking some C&D "Kajun Kake" in my newly refurbished Guildhall. Both are the result of an excellent trade, and both smoking wonderfully. Thanks @thebadgerpiper
I'm glad you enjoyed it @RockyMountainBriar . And that Guildhall never looked better!
Just tried some of that 1792 Flake you sent. This is most definitely an excellent tobacco. Stepped outside for a moment and came back in, and I love the aroma.
@Ron191 ~ my brother turned me on to some of the Borkum Riff Black Cavendish that he picked up at a liquor store on the corner a couple of weeks ago and since then I haven't been able to get enough of it. I just don't remember it being this good when I was younger.
@OlePops -- I'd suggest you try Lane BCA and/or VBC; especially the Vanilla Black Cavendish. Either is great by itself, and blends well with almost anything.
@motie2 ~ indeed! BCA and VBC are both excellent choices. Both very satisfying smokes. I like'm both a plenty. I was merely commenting on the fact that he was smoking the Riff at the time and that I had revisited it recently and had given it a very unfair, hasty misjudgment some years back. But you know what they say, tastes change over time. I've bought 3 pouches of the Riff in the last 3 weeks. It's tasty!
Minor setback with the sinus infection. Put me back about 3 more days. Good now and enjoying my first bowl since May 22. Decided to keep it simple with some Lane BCA in a T. Cristiano Metamorfosi. Not a filter fan, but decided to use the optional filter setup on the pipe...
@OldPops - I've had that experience with a lot of the older blends. The first time around I was a green kid and didn't have the patience to enjoy a pipe or the knowledge. With better packing and smoking technique and a little more hard earned patience I'm starting to get enjoyment instead of tongue bite. I guess that is the wisdom that comes from old age that I have been waiting for.
Enjoying some Lane RLP-6 in a little reworked and refurbed no-name. The only stamping found is MAS inside an oval on the stem... still a good 30/45 minute pipe...
Trying some D&R “London Dock” in my Luciano Bulldog tonight. It is a very interesting tobacco, I love it. I read the TobaccoReviews.com description, it does not list coconut, but I’d swear it had some in it? It must be the coumarin messing with me. The description said it use to have deer tongue in it, but was replaced with the coumarin. I do get a “vanilla-ish” aroma with some floral? Whatever it is, I like it. I caught a hint of caramel too, but it may be a ghost from tobaccos past (Lane “BCA”). This Luciano has always been a great smoker right from the start of a new (bare wood) bowl. I am not a fan of chamber coatings😖

Good evening y'all.
Been away, but I'm back.
I enjoyed a bowl of Gaslight in a Carey freehand on my way home from work tonight.
Glad to see you back 👍🏻
