@pwkarch i am properly storing the tobacco, I’ve just found that the taste is not the same, then jar note is identical, and to my eyes it looks identical, but once I’m smoking it, it’s dead, and to my taste most aromatics taste very similar once this has happened. Maybe it was just the day, I’ll give it a few more shots before i toss the jar altogether
10 Russians in a nice stanwell shape 15 And since I'm on my way to meet some fellow Pipe club members at a Greek festival in Chicago, I'm taking a pouch of C&D Old Court with me. Hope I don't get harrassed for smoking a pipe in public, crazy world anymore.
@ocpunk714.. As noted before it is very dry out of the bag (I bought each type of Rimboche. They are all bone dry.). No problem here as I first brought some moisture to the tobacco, placed it in jars and let them sit for a tine. One other trick is to remix the bag thoroughly to be sure the tobacco is blended well (For example, I noticed the dark fired tobacco was in clumps when I spread the tobacco out for moisturizing.)and eliminate any stems in the tobacco.
The tobacco ,while roughly cut ( not a thing of beauty), is really an enjoyable smoke. The Latakia, Virginias, perique and dark -fired tobaccos blend into a nice complex blend where I can taste every component. At the regular price (~28) it is hard to beat. Add to that I bought all three Rimboche varieties at a 20 (or was that 25) percent discount at P&C. The other two and part of the AB stock, I am cellaring for at least a year if not three to allow the Virginias time to ripen(Not to say I will not sample some before then😁). I trust all is well with you ocpunk714
@ocpunk714 I placed my response about Rimboche AB here(where you asked the question) and now I do not see it. I hope the comments will reappear at some point. If not I will respond again.
@qmechanics I’ve noticed that happen to me a couple times. When I edited my comments a certain number of times, they would disappear. Not sure if it’s happened to you that way, but I am curious about it as well.
Closing the day in a rocking chair on my front porch, doing 50/50 Sutliff Black Cherry and Sunset Rum in a no-name refurbed panel while sipping on some cherry wine. At this moment, life is good...
Just opened a tin of C&D Crooked Lane. Packed some in my Ewa Classic. My first impression is a good one. It’s a pretty light English. The Orientals and Virginias are the main strength of this blend with a good backing of Latakia/Toasted Cavendish. Not really getting the Perique yet, but I’m only halfway through the first bowl.
Enjoying a little creme brulee after dinner in my referbished MM cob. Thanks to @thebadgerpiper I decided to fix this old cracked up cob. Looks like new now!

Do not ignor Lane Dark Red as a ver good Cherry Aromatic. Cult Blood Red Moon IS very good as all of you are saying......
