This morning on my way to a very cold and very windy potential project I smoked another bowl of the Sutliff Spicy Vanilla. Very pleasant taste and aroma. I am enjoying this blend in a Butz Coquin briar pipe.
On the way home, I filled the same pipe with Captain Black Original (White) just to check back to some of my roots as a young pipe smoker so many years ago. Well, I have to say I could not say enough about it. I also could not find anything negative to say either. This blend has stood up to the test of time. I purchased this pouch Saturday using my Lane Coupon (finally) at, where else, Thrift Drugs. In fact I bought 2 pouches. This morning I opened the outer cellophane wrapper and the aroma was wonderful.
This blend gets mixed reviews, but I am a supporter based on todays' drive home. The Captain treated me right.
TCS Second Breakfast. I’ve been too consumed with the learning process of blending to relax. Think I’ll just have one long smoke break today then get back at it tomorrow.
@pwkarch -- I totally agree with you about Capt. Black. It may be "cheap" tobacco, but it's still really good. And best of all, if other high-end tobaccos start to go the way of McClelland we will always have a really good backup blend readily available. It's been around forever and will hopefully always be around.
Smoked some of my Dunhill Standard Mixture in my Peterson Bulldog before heading out to work this morning. This tin is nearly empty so I'm sticking with it until it's gone. Thinking about opening another or opening a tin of the DunhillLondon Mixture next.
Just finishing off a coin of Escudo Navy De Luxe and it is so hitting the mark this morning. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy every bowl, but I'm having one of those pleasant moments when a blend just zeros in on your palette and delivers so much flavor more so perhaps than usual.
I was really hoping to have my order of shepherds pie in from the country squire, but it’s not in quite yet! So that’s what i will be smoking whenever it arrives.

Can’t remember what’s in this from last night. I think it’s Gray Havens.
