@ghostsofpompeii "I have another hanging pipe rack gifted to me by my son that has a glass window with Sherlock Holmes etched in the glass. It's hard to see because of the glare. "
Just saw your earlier post. I have the same Sherlock Holmes etched pipe cabinet (minus the knob) hanging on my wall. I found it for $20 at a flea market.
While the picture isn't as creative as some of the wonderful pictures on here, this is my pipe picture for today. Ennerdale Flake in my Jobey Billiard, as well as the newest pipe book in my library.
@thebadgerpiper , I read that book back in 1984, enjoyed it, I was just starting out in the hobby and learned a lot. I gave it to someone to read and never got it back.
@PappyJoe That top pipe is absolutely beautiful - what needs to be done? Or have you already finished that one. Can't imagine it looking any better than it does.
@ghostsofpompeii - I'm not happy with the stems. They both have deep bite marks and I haven't been able to de-ghost the stems to my liking. The bowls are good and I did smoke the top one but I'm probably going to send them out and just get new stems.
Having a bowl of C&D's Epiphany blend in my Morgan Bones, so I decided to show off the coloring on the pipe after owning it for a year and a half. It's fun watching the pipe darken over time.
@ghostsofpompeii That Bones pipe is just the right size. When I take a pipe with me when going out, more often than not, that's one of the pipes I bring with me.
@jfreedy That's a beautiful Pete! Wonderful shape.
@jfreedy Nice looking pipe, I'm partial to Peterson's myself. My wife used to buy one for my birthday every year we went to her home in Ireland to visit her parents.
I'm posting these pictures in memory of my deceased Big Ben Fantasia pipe which moments after the picture was severed in half by the idiot smoking it. It is currently resting in pieces in a cardboard box awaiting possible re-animation.
@Woodsman I think the thing that bothered me the most about this breakage was the fact that it happened quite unexpectedly doing something very simple. Other pipes I've broken have been as a result of dropping them at work from high places and they shattered to pieces, or into a screw conveyor that literally ground it to dust. The only other pipes I broken were clay pipes. But this happened by simply cleaning the pipe after smoking with a pipe cleaner. I'm sure there must have been a weak spot in the tenon that didn't appear until the day of the actual breakage - but it sure was a shock when it happened.
@ghostsofpompeii Oh no, sorry to hear that about your pipe! I haven't lost any of mine yet, but I've dropped them before. Time slows down as you watch the pipe fall, unable to save it from the inevitable landing.
@PappyJoe I've contacted Ric and am sending him my pipe. That's an instance when YouTube really paid off. I watched his videos several times and based on that alone decided to use him.
Every year as I gather my gear for the dove season opener I will snap a picture of my setup. Here is the 2017 pic I took last night Shotgun is a dehaan 20g, pipe is an old Digby made by GBD.

@thebadgerpiper Nice looking photo shoot. I really like the tamper as well. Please keep the pictures coming.
