This is probably my favorite pipe, Erik Stokkebye 4th generation. I’m not sure if this daily briar photoshoot is a formal thing, or just casual pictures, but this is my Virginia smoker. Once saw it on smoking pipes i knew i had to buy it!
@Charles@ghostsofpompeii thanks gents, it does smoke great! the only "problem" is the bowl is so large, by time im done smoking i can feel the nicotine kicking in more than usual, so i usually do a 2/3 bowl or so
@TaylorJDutton Wow, that's a nice lookin' pipe. I like the Stokkebye 4th Generation pipe tobacco line, but never looked at their pipes. I hope it brings you many years of enjoyment.
@pipeman83 i actually filled it to the bring tonight, amazing smoke all the way through! @thebadgerpiper thanks, i really love all the pipes they have out, they have a gorgeous churchwarden thats only $115, im tempted to pick it up.
@jdk5hh -- Howdy! Welcome to TPL; I've not "seen you around." Anyway, I admire the detail in your meerschaum, above; real craftsmanship/artistry. Enjoy!
@TaylorJDutton Did you dislike the photo of the Dracula pipe or do you dislike Peterson's Dracula pipe? Hopefully it's just the photo you don't like and not the pipe. I love the pipe and have no problem with mine, but I have heard people mention the fact that they have trouble removing the stem because it's too tight. And a YouTube presenter mentioned his was drilled improperly and could get a pipe cleaner through to the bowl. I have no problem with mine. But I do have a Peterson Jekyll & Hyde that I can't get a pipe cleaner through so maybe Peterson might have a bit of a problem in that department after all.
@ghostsofpompeii i was a little confused for a moment, i searched the backlog and realized i accidentally disliked your post (probably while i was scrolling on my iPhone) i don’t dislike it at all, quite the opposite actually. Sorry about that
I’ll jump on again today, this is my briarworks bullmoose. It’s a brown blast, and an excellent smoker, i took this photo the day the pipe came in, and it’s my English blend pipe, for anything from frog Morton cellar to g.l. Pease quiet nights. I love the look, and I’m a sucker for things that come with stickers
@motie2 Thanks. I'm relatively new. Yes, the detail in this piece is exquisite in person. No way for my photography to do it full justice.
@KA9FFJ I smoke it about twice per month. Have not waxed it yet, as I only started using it a couple months ago. I bought it when I visited Turkey about 8-10 years ago because it was beautiful. I didn't plan on smoking it as I had quit cigs in 2002 and was still in my NEVER SMOKE AGAIN phase. Picked up pipe smoking last November for my birthday. Then I remembered this one sitting on my shelf. Took it down to The Country Squire and smoked it for the first time with people who appreciated what it was.
@ghostsofpompeii I wish I was a pipe smoker when I bought it, I would have made a point to get the artist's name. I've had a couple beers and naps since then and have long forgotten the details of when I bought it.
@TaylorJDutton No problem, I was just hoping to make a case for the Dracula Pipe in the event that's what you meant with the dislike. It's ironic that Saturday night I was scrolling through some YouTube videos and happened upon a few about the Peterson Dracula pipe. One guy from England absolutely loves the line and seems to have every style in the series, while the other two presenters seemed to have a problem with either not being able to take the pipe apart or get a pipe cleaner through it. I guess being a horror fan as well as a pipe smoker I feel a little protective of the Dracula pipe and wanted to stick up for it by pointing out my experiences were very good. When I've been seen smoking it during my walks in the park with my wife I've gotten nice compliments on the look of the pipe. That red stem is pretty striking.
The lighting is fairly poor, but i decided to get slightly creative today. This is a 50s Italian estate pipe my wife bought me on Etsy for $8.5. And it’s one of the best smokers i have! I love it. And i use it for anything, but lately it’s been my shoveling pipe (good amount of snow this winter). Also, my wife bought me this 50s vintage red tip razor from Gillette, i figured I’d show them both off being that they’re from the 50s.
@thebadgerpiper That little badger is what makes the picture. We've all seen corn cob pipes and pocket knives ... but the little badger is the icing on the cake.
@ghostsofpompeii Thanks! I try to add a badger figurine or picture with my photos when I can to give them a bit more personality. Now I just need to find a good badger figurine that has a pipe with him.
@motie2 All great badger pictures. I keep a file of pipe smoking animals for backgrounds for my computer/phone, and badgers are usually the first ones I look for.
