Elizabethan Mixture is the favorite blend of Bradley, host of the StuffAndThings channel on Youtube. Here's his review. This was his very first review, on July 20, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clbGVGd85OA
I agree with his review. I gravitate towards heavier blends so didn’t taste the subtlety of EM. Will have to try some more to get the hang of it. Thanks @motie2
Well done my friend.....I am going to order a tin based on yoiur recommendation, and Motie2's recommendation.......and on that vain, has anyone yet tried John Bull? I too am not a Latakia fan per se, however I tried the JB and liked it. It has what I am assuming a stronger Latakia presence based on your guys descriptions, but it is a decent smoke and makes me want to become friends with Latakia. I will get some Eastfarthing in the next few weeks and take it for a spin......perhaps an early Christmas present to myself.
Thank you, @pwkarch , that's the highest compliment I can get for writing a review. I don't have the best palate for detecting intricate flavors in pipe tobacco, but I do the best with what I have. For what it's worth, I think the latakia is mild enough that even if you don't normally care for it, you should still enjoy the smoke.
I haven't tried John Bull, but I've seen it often in the P&C catalogs. From what I've heard, JB is pretty strong, so Eastfarthing shouldn't be anything to be worried about. Let us know what you think about it when you order some!
Gentlemen Having some time late today I decided to go back through this Review section. I am amazed looking at the totality of the posts what a learned and experienced collection of pipe smokers we have. I am further impressed with the writing ability of this group. I also enjoy the different writing styles of our members, which I think makes these posts so interesting, informative, and entertaining. As a fifty year smoker I love to see younger smokers' opinions expressed on Reviews. Whereas I get stuck on old ideals and Choices (habits), there have been many times I have taken advise from much younger members who approach our hobby/ lifestyle from a different perspective in their choices represented in their reviews. This is a very "Vanilla/ Chocolate" issue on a lot of tobacco genres, tobacco types, blends, blenders, etc. This is sometimes a daunting exercise to pick something. Hand Salute to all who participate and share the enjoyment. Keep up the great work.
Does anyone have an opinion regarding Seattle Pipe Club’s two new “Barrel Aged” blends? Some reviews have been ecstatic; others more restrained. They are a little pricey, and so I have been slow to pull the trigger. The rum one sounds right up my previous alley.
Perique is an incredibly versatile blending component and one of the most interesting and complex types of tobacco. It's used to create numerous mixtures, often serving as a condimental tobacco to add nuance or complexity to a blend. Perique is steeped in tradition, having endured for centuries, its curing process passed down for generations, and it continues to play a prominent role in pipe tobacco manufacturing.

<< I keep seeing pipe forums where someone says i think CB White is similar to RLP-6, then some old connie sewer chimes in "theres no way RLP-6 is CB White. I noticed a hint of grassy cricket fart from the Virginia's and the Burley is slightly nutty but not in an Oatish way, more cracker jack.... Ok to settle this once and for all i called customer service at Skaninavian Tobacco and spoke to a manager named Marsha. RLP-6 is the bulk version of CB white, 1Q is Royal. both have a little extra PG to keep on store shelves for a decade if need be. Guys your tongues aint what the used to be, your palates scorched from reviewing 5,000 tobacco blends a year... Finally we can settle this debate and focus our efforts on finding Amelia Earhart... >>

Awaiting arrival.
I cannot confirm dominant rumor; that RLP-6 is the bulk form of Captain Black regular/white. I’ve smokedboth... and find RLP-6 to be superior....

I concur!!!!
Impressive, sir. I like your list of six favorite blends, especially the VBC and the Barbados Plantation.
