OK everyone, I finally got aggravated enough to wait for quite a bit on hold until somebody answered at P&C. I explained that because I can never get through on the phone that I had been sending emails for over two weeks with no replies (she said the people who normally respond to email are now working phones instead so nobody is really catching the emails) I explained that I was charged for two different tin samplers and never got either one-here is where you all may want to take notice.....the samplers are not registering in the system. Even if they have all of the components of a stepladder or sampler the system is kicking it back as out of stock. So, they offered to ship the order that I paid for a month ago-which I received yesterday. Too bad it is still missing one of the tins and there was no mention of a backorder or out of stock when we were on the phone. Oh, and they were kind enough to bill me twice for the order they f'd up. Good riddance to P&C, I am in shock at the lack of ownership on their part for this mess, they seem to expect us to feel sorry for them because they are running behind and just put up with their delays and errors.
I just wrote about my experience with them on another post. They have lost my business for good. I waited a month for them to figure out a solution and ship me two tins that were suddenly on back order days after i ordered them. Multiple unanswered emails and phone calls until i finally got through the third time around after trying 25 (yes, 25) times that same day, and I'm done. I cancelled the balance of my order and then promptly ordered the tins from smokingpipes.com on Monday. They are scheduled to arrive later today. Now that's service.
One month later, my order arrived on my doorstep without warning. It was a nice surprise, and I wasn't in dire need of the blends, so it wasn't too much of a problem to wait, but I'm not happy with how it all went down.
@rshey1 Wow finally, I am still waiting on mine. Hopefully soon I will see mine shipped as well. I order on the 19th of February. I have called twice and receive many emails but still no items. It has helped me to develop much patience.
@rshey1 I received an email yesterday evening that my order has shipped (maybe you brought me some luck), when I go to look at my account on the website it says processing so I guess I will have to wait to see what actually comes in the mail this week. It may be like yours and be a partial of the entire order??? Will let you know, fingers crossed.
My entire order arrived as well as 4 tubs of HH Midtown Series tobacco that I didn't order and was not charged for. Have tried to call and left a message with Customer service regarding
the extra items still no response for a couple weeks.
@cerozero well it seems you got lucky and someone will probably be really envious of you because they are 4 tubs short ROFL. I doubt that you will hear anything back the 2 times that I got through was after 20+ minutes of being on hold. @philip Well seems that you may be unlucky HA HA HA what a combination 12 HS nails and dried out cubanas, I guess you could MacGyver something together and make one heck of a nail pipe. Hilarious! But hey you got your order right? LOL Thanks for the laughs.
Have been stocking up on Dunhill's London Mixture, Standard Mixture, and Early Morning. I really love Dunhill and is my first preference for English tobacco. Although I never thought that Dunhill would disappear in my lifetime, I have come to learn that nothing lasts forever, and if you find something you really enjoy, take full advantage because it could vanish forever into the abyss. So sad.
@Pappy-Joe - Got the same email yesterday and placed an order. Most of the tins are on backorder but I was lucky to find the London and Standard Mixtures in stock. Thanks for the heads-up, much appreciated!!!
Mr. PiperDave, I should be clear, I was being stupid. I did not get anything extra in my order, I was just joking. In fact, I did just get a box from them yesterday and realized I made a big rookie mistake. I was ordering for a little experiment I'm currently doing and one of the line items was two tins of a Dunhill. If I would have thought about it some more I could have added one more then got another free. I should have known better because I ordered a dozen tins just two weeks ago with them and took advantage of that offer.
and no extra Cremosa Cubanas for me, which if you ever had one you know would be a punishment not a gift. That's why I thought it was funny.
Today I put in an order today at about 1:30 for one tin of Panama Jack Key Lime, two tins of Out Of Office Gone Fishing, and one tin of Molto Dolce and I just checked my email and found my original order confirmation plus another email stating that it's been shipped. So maybe things are getting back to normal.
@Philip I figured you were joking especially about the nails LOL; that's why I made the MacGyver joke. I assumed that cerozero wasn't though but not really sure, if he did get 4 tubs off HH then he made out like a bandit. I only got about half of my order so I assume the rest will come some day. Thanks for the clarification . Waiting to hear when I get the rest though.
I'm wondering if your wait is due to backorder or if it wasn't filled correctly in the first place. I can understand the first, would be pretty mad at the second.
My order is now 40 days late. I think that's about the end of being patient. I sent them yet another email and will try to phone tomorrow. I think I'll just give up and reorder through Smoking Pipes. Then the darn thing will arrive. I've dealt wiyh them for years but, this is too much.
Another glaring example of someone falling into the, "If it ain't broke don't fix it" trap. I admit to being an old fart and a bit of a curmudgeon, but I'm not entirely opposed to taking advantage of new technology. It's just that so many times what is touted as an improvement simply results in screwing things up and making things needlessly more complicated.
@topaz75 Couldn't have said it better myself. I completely agree. @woodsman good luck in your endeavors the 2 separate times I was able to get through it took over 20 minutes each time possibly 30+ just for them to tell me that my order should be ready soon (I have received 3 of my 7 ordered items after 38 days). From what I have read some people have not been able to cancel their order or even able to return items due to no response. I haven't seen the video but I am not sure if it would make any difference at this point. So disappointing.
I received my order today. I sent it out March 30 at 1:30 in the afternoon and by later that same day received delivery confirmation that my order had been packaged up and sent on it's way. The same day I ordered two blends from Boswell. Boswell responded the very next day with my delivery confirmation. But strangely I received my Boswell order three days ago before the P&C shipment arrived. But I'll not quibble over a few extra days. That has more to do with my mail delivery than the fault of P&C. And I seriously doubt that anyone waits until they're tobacco supply is down to zero before putting in an order.
One thing that can help people avoid the aggravation of unacceptable delays is to double-check when making the order that the item is currently 'in stock'. I'll never order anything listed as 'backordered' because you never know when that shipment will arrive. I'll simply click on 'notify' and they'll email me once it's back in stock. That way I'm not waiting - or tied to the order should I find it in stock somewhere else ... keeping me from the aggravation of calling P&C and cancelling the item from my list, and getting things botched up where there is a misunderstanding and the entire order is cancelled ... it's happened to me.). And NEVER order anything listed 'out of stock' because nine times out of ten it means 'and we'll never be getting it back in stock'. So save yourself the aggravation of ordering something listed as 'out of stock'.
I truly hope P&C makes good with all the orders that are currently causing many members here problems because I've always found them to be a dependable and reasonably price establishment. And hate to see it's reputation going down the tubes as many of these comments would suggest.
@motie2 As did I. While I'm still unhappy with P&C, I plan on keeping it to read, as they're one of the few companies to still send me stuff I like to read in the mail.

I received a partial from the. 1 out of 5 items, gonna give them a call.
http://thispipelife.com/us/tpl/forum/index.php?p=/profile/111/piperdave Well I only got 1 order. I had 2 orders 1day apart and they combined the 2 in 1 order, which if fine. it saved on shipping, but left out
some tobacco due to backorder, I called and the lady told me to keep an eye out for another week and then call back if nothing shows up

They're out of 6 of the 20 Newminster blends, 3 of which are my favorites. I don't think it's their fault, more likely the Nazi like "Deeming".
It shows that it's in stock, but I yet to receive it as of today, 4/5.
Yikes!!
