I get it, like I said I wasn't knocking anyone. I love being a dad, and it always makes me smile when one of them calls me and needs my help/advice by starting the conversation with "Dad". When I was in the Army they ingrained into every one of us the importance of the title and the rank. I know that the titles here help the new members differentiate between those who can be of help and those who are just warm bodies, and I believe that is impotany as well, it's also to be respected. The Dr Who thing I didn't get though, I'll admit that one (yes, I am a heathen, I have failed to watch even a single episode). Now, I suppose that was a long winded way of saying, forgive me for putting my foot in my mouth with my previous comment, though you guys better get used to it, it will happen often.
@mhajec NO DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!! Ehhh... its not for every one. I think we all just enjoy the banter. Maybe the military thing has something to do with it as well.
@drac2485 I've never seen it so I don't even know if I like it or not, LOL. And yeah, the military, good for creating thick skinned people who have the uncanny ability to just automatically talk trash to the right group of people. Oh, and crazy SOB's, especially the ones who would rather sit in an air conditioned office than be treated like crap and get dirty... Ha
One of the things I like about this board and keeps me coming back despite of the slow, pain in the ass every time log in is that I like that you don't have post counts, smilies and signature lines. I'd loose the rankings, IMO they aren't useful. A noob with a lot of questions or shut in with a lot of time is not a pipe "Yoda". ;-( >
@PappyJoe yes, there's just something about time machine telephone booths... I just want to make calls or see superman, I don't want to accidentally travel to the end of the Mesozoic Era and either be dinner or extinct. Just saying.
@charlenestglaneltd - a "reply to" button at on each post would be nice also. That way we wouldn't have to type in the name and it would automatically quote the post we were replying to.
@pappyjoe@wanderingdude Posts, comments, and length of time on website gives you point. Each badge gives you points. If you go on your profile you can see how many badges you have. For example, a 3 month badge give you 5 points and 500 comments gives you 30 points.
@mhajec I have never been able to edit my posts. The admin know and are working on it. Really irritating when you mistype something or spell check kicks in. I am constantly rereading my posts and smacking myself in the forehead

@drac2485 on the list of discussions in the corner you should see a little wheel. If you click on it, announce is one the options.
