@Montecristo I definitely picked up on that. I'm just so adamant about spreading the word about Starbucks I couldn't help but echo the sentiment. Friends don't let friends drink starbucks.
Yep, Starbuck’s sucks, Seattle’s Best also sucks, but here in Billings, City Brew is even worse…..unless of course you happen to be a fan of burnt up dark roasted coffee. To each their own.🙂
@Whoispra Yes indeedy, Montana…where the men are men and the sheep are scared. Well, all except that one guy that use to roller-skate around the light-poles downtown in makeup and a tutu, but I haven’t seen him in years. It’s a great place to visit and spend your money, but don’t stay😬
@RockyMountainBriar not sure what to make of that haha. That being said seems like a beautiful place. Only thing I know about Montana is Schnee's has headquarters there.
@RockyMountainBriar I have both Danner and Schnee made boots. I love my danners for comfort and hiking but their waterproofing failed after a year and I wasn't hard on them. The schnees are super solid but they are heavy and use them more as a casual boot than for outdoor use.
@RockyMountainBriar I get a boot allowance for work and i've tried all kinds of boots so how can you not try danners? This is getting way off track for coffee so to reign it in anyone looking for a good bag of specialty coffee should look into Black & White coffee roasters here in North Carolina.
@Londy3 The roaster in Coats (Technically now Dunn) is 129 coffee roasters and the owners name is Todd. Do you mean Larry's coffee over near Five Points?
A thousand pardons. I did not expect that to happen. There are two URLs you might try. NYTimes says the first is a "gift article." The inclusion of the term "unlocked_article_code" suggests it'll work. On the other hand, someone may click on it before you. I don't know how things work. Don't shoot the messenger.
We’ve already established that Starbucks over-roasts their beans.
The new line of olive oil coffee by Starbucks has led some folks to add olive oil to their coffee at home. But no matter if you’re making olive oil coffee at home or getting it from Starbucks, the combination essentially creates a gentle laxative. And if you didn’t know that beforehand, it’s not the best surprise to get.
I finished building my new motor for my Whirly-Pop “roaster”. It runs max at ~260 RPM’s, I liked the speed at 75%, or about 200 RPM’s. I roasted a couple of batches of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans today, about 40 ounces green. I tried to roast light, but may have gone to light medium. This is the first batch, the second was slightly lighter. I ended up with about 34 ounces roasted. One of my little sisters is visiting from Arizona for the 4th, and to start clearing out mom’s house for sale. She requested some good coffee. I decided to grab some beans and fresh roast some for her visit.
For those seeking a really stiff cup of coffee, try Green Mountain Roasters "Black Granite." Stronger even than their "Double Diamond" and "Black Magic."

That’s why I prefaced the pic with “over-roasted”!

Schnee’s?
Ahh, had to look it up…Schnee’s boots in Bozeman👍🏻
I am partial to Danner’s, but quality has seemed to have slipped with them🙁
Wow, Danner’s too🙂. We do have quite a few of the same likes/dislikes.
Who's your coffee roaster friend?
I know Larry.
A goddamn link that requires me to subscribe…foul…foul!

The second would be the unadorned https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/28/climate/coffee-liberica-uganda.html
Again, I don't know. The second worked for me.

I’ve seen it….I even picked a bag up off of the shelf…..but with the price it was, I just couldn’t do it and set it back down.
