This is my first twist of Happy Bogie and I have to say that it is quite tasty. After reading all the reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it is deep and rich with a lot of body and both dark, aged flavor and a natural high sweet note throughout. I can see that it isn't for everyone, but if you like blends like JackKnife Plug, you should definitely give this one a try.
On a side note, I also tried Black Irish X for the first time this week and thought it tasted awful. There is no accounting for tastes, so your mileage may vary, but I wouldn't discount all twists if you try one of them and don't care for it.
Straus Tobacconist "Private Stock Aromatic". Straus Tobacconist is a long-time Cincinnati, Ohio tradition; I bought my first Savinelli Deluxe there about mumble mumble years ago.
Last week I was in Cincy and stopped by...and stopped by. I smoked the Private Stock blends back then. Straus used a somewhat different nomenclature...in this case, AROMATIC means more Latakia...MUCH more Latakia. The Private Stock is just yummy...the Private Stock Aromatic is downright toothsome...
Just finished a bowl of 965 in my Savinelli Roma 316 KS. Sitting on the porch this evening enjoying the much needed rain here in ATL. Hoping the holiday season has been kind to you all, so far!
