Life has been a bit hectic at the old homestead but I managed to take some time to sit out in the yard and decompress with a bowl of Sutliff Pumpkin Spice in my Jan Pietenpauw Cicatrice Bamboo Pipe. The weather was great. A perfect Autumn blend for a perfect Fall afternoon.
Fired up one of my Savinelli’s with some Robert McConnell CODE:RELAX this evening. Awesome tin note, pretty good flavor, nice aroma. Good thing since I felt like smoking inside, too chilly and wet and snowy outside. It’s good to be the king. My cat is not impressed, but it’s payback for the nasty dookie he just dropped in the cat box😝
Starting this windy morning in New England with some Seattle Pipe Club Mississippi River in the first pipe I ever bought; a Peterson partial bent sitter.
@thebadgerpiper when McClelland closed down, i bought 3 tins of cellar, 2 tins of Morton, and 1 tin of on the bayou, along with many other various mclelland tobaccos. I’m hoping to make it all last years!
@motie2, Sunset Rum offers more bang for the buck, strength of Rum taste goes to Barbados Plantation. Sort of hoard BP and use on special occasions,Sunset Rum I use as a everyday choice.
I@mapletop It is a Savinelli New Art, they have them on sale at SmokingPipes.com. There are a few different colors/ styles. Savinelli also made some special edition pipes in 2000, with the same stem with briar inset. They are cool paneled bulldogs, straight and bent. Part of the reason I grabbed one was to see how they inlaid and cut the stem for when I attempt to make a similar one myself.
@thebadgerpiper I had a bit cooler weather here also. My outdoor “smoking table” was covered with snow😳. I have had the heater on sporadically the last 30 days or so......and I live in Montana’s “Bannana Belt”.
Tonight I was refurbishing some Victorinox SAK’s and smoking some G.L. Pease “Regents Flake” in my C&D Missouri Meerschaum. Nice smoke after I rubbed it out slightly and dried it down to about 12% moisture. It did smack me with a nic hit and I had to put it down while working on the SAK’s with the buffing wheel. I didn’t want to end up wrapped around the drill press, I was getting a bit light headed🤪
