@motie2, you know it, buyers lament, should have bought more. Also Recieved some Eileen's Dreams, liked it very much. Fighting off a minor cold and so my taste and smell are off a bit, what I could taste was good.
Currently smoking Ennerdale Flake in my trusty Jobey Pipe. Ennerdale is the only blend I’ve ever tried in a cob, and then immediately bought a pipe off of eBay just to devote to it.
@thebadgerpiper — I’ve never tried a Lakeland blend before, but based on the reviews it sounds like Ennerdale Flake is the way to go. A lot of fans out there.
@jfreedy I can't recommend Ennerdale Flake enough. Just make sure you try it in a cob first to make sure you like it. Lakelands are notorious for ghosting a briar, so you'll want to devote a pipe to them.
This evening it's C&D Bijou in my Savinelli 812 while I try my hand at making some "char cloth" for my hunting pack. The season is upon us. That "char cloth" is smok'in too🙂
@pipeman83 Sounds like a blend I need to try. Hunters Lodge in a hunters lodge..... well more like a cabin tent than a lodge, but whatever works right🤔
@motie2 That's some fungi growing from the tree stump by my house. It does look like a pie from the picture, though. If I had to pick a pie, it would be rhubarb and strawberry, or banana cream.
@thebadgerpiper Well thanks. I just cut off my full “yeard” today. It was the first time in my life I had a full beard for a full year. A razor, shaver, scissor had not touched that facial hair until today. It’s weird, my mustache does not get long🤔. I had been growing my beard out so that I could eventually get what you see today🙂. As a side note, I have only shaved off my top lip once in my life...back in college...literally once. Probably why it does not grow out? By the way, that Savinelli smokes great too👍🏻 I have been looking at a new Savinelli Lovat. Funny thing, when I first started smoking a pipe, I hated the look of a saddle stem. Now, the Lovat is one of my favorite pipe shapes, it all started with an old “Sunrise” by Comoy’s Lovat that smokes exceptionally well. What Savinelli Lovat do you have? I was looking at the “Professor” shape 701.
Captain Black Midnight Gold and Barbados Plantation. Smoked them both in my Corey Pipe. I've been giving that pipe a real work out as of late. I'm going to have to let it rest for a week or two, because I've smoked it for about five days straight a minimum of two bowls a day. Not giving it enough time to dry out.
@RockyMountainBriar, that’s why I wanted to try it, it was given to me by a friend who was giving away some of his Latakia blends, I really like it, it’s a local blend here in Cleveland, if I’m able to get more I can send you some if you want to try it.
BTW, for those, like me, who didn't know what @RockyMountainBriar was talking about:
Char cloth (or charcloth) – also called charpaper – is a material that is used in fire making. It is a swatch of fabric made from vegetable fiber (such as linen, cotton or jute) that has been converted via pyrolysis into a slow-burning fuel of very low ignition temperature.
Pyrolysis is the thermal decomposition of materials at elevated temperatures in an inert atmosphere.
Today's weather was beautiful. Like a precursor to Fall. So with that in mind I went 'full autumn' and smoked Sutliff Pumpkin Spice blend in my Peterson Jekyll & Hyde pipe, while drinking a cup of Bigelow's Pumpkin Spice tea.
Tonight I have got the Coleman fired up making some more “char cloth” and smoking some Newmister #47 Danish Black with a touch of Captain Black Cherry mixed in. Fired up in the first real pipe I bought, a Peterson’s Killarney #268 Zulu.
@motie2 Gotta love the inter-webs for information. Well that, and all the other “worthless” nonsense that goes on in the YouTube “rabbit hole”. Anybody else here ever fall down the “rabbit hole”? I didn’t think so😉
@RockyMountainBriar Normally I think people should stick with beards, but that stache suites you.
My Savinelli is a 701 straight grain. Nothing fancy, just an estate I picked up on ebay after a bidding war. It needed some fixing up, and cleaned up nicely. I quite like the short saddleback stem on them, and they're one of my favorite shapes in the Canadian family.
Currently smoking C&D's Epiphany in my Country Gentleman cob.

Thanks for the offer, it is most generous of you sir. Not to be ungrateful, but Latakia is not for me😖
