SOMEONE please, smoke something good for me. So busy and having to go to so many places today (including finding out what I owe Uncle Sam from last year) I did not have a chance to enjoy a pipe. Now it is sleeting/ raining / blowing / snowing and I am not about to venture out to my garage. I sit at my computer with empty pipe in mouth savoring the faint taste of the last bowl of Lane Vanilla Black Cavendish while looking out into the darkening night awaiting how ever many inches or feet of snow we will get here in Jersey. Oh, and by the way, Happy Springtime.
@Kmhartle -- May I ask how the No. 5 is to smoke? It's one of a very few English style tobaccos offered by Sutliff, the purveyor of [high pitched voice] the Sweet Ones.
@pwkarch -- ARE YOU READY ? Forecast calls for snow to begin tonight, and tomorrow.... well, let's just say that with the heavy, wet snow mixed with rain, whatever didn't fall on the power lines last week, will do so tomorrow.
Or "Inshallah," it'll land us only a glancing blow.
Speaking of snow or a beautiful spring morning and for some reason the way you pack the bowl was just right, and you have your favorite pipe. The smoke was way too short, do you grab your pouch for another bowl.
Can anyone recommend a good tobacco that pairs well with a crazy girlfriend? I need something for my nerves. Lol.
I’m actually getting my dog and corn cob ready for a walk. Balkan Supreme bulk from PipesandCigars will be my choice. Got it in that Stick and Move sampler. Wish I would’ve stocked up cause it’s backordered.
Frogmorton in a large, deep bowled Peterson 65, Drove to meet some old guys from my field office. DG'd for 2 1/2 hrs. Drove home DG'd for lunch and finished on the porch. The Frog stayed nice for the whole trip. @KA9FFJ, I wonder how many times I smoke it if I head out for a lunch of those sausages?
@Bentbrier, First welcome to TPL.I visited DC for the first time ever November 2013,loved DC. I found a Tobacco-cigar bar not far from the capital or the White House forgot which one. Then I found another at Pentagon City Mall, to say I was happy is an understatement. Never got to Georgetown, I know now that there is a pipe tobacco establishment in Georgetown with a pretty good reputation, maybe next time.Hope you got some good smoke.
@motie2 I've only smoked 2 bowls of the #5. The first bowl, upon opening the tin, was strong with a bit of a bite, but enjoyable. Having it sit a week, the bowl I had today was much smoother. I've recently purchased some Sutliff Westminster which is also an English blend. The #5 is a much better blend, IMHO.
Smoking some Sir Walter Raleigh in my Savinelli billiard this morning along with my coffee and watching the storm number four develop. Not looking forward to shoveling that mess later.
@Charles I agree. This weather is getting really old. Glad I've got a bowl of The Country Squire's Second Breakfast to keep me calm and to start the day, especially after getting the results of my annual this morning. I need to hit the salad bar much harder.
@buflosab I think I found the one near the White House on my last trip. It closes early so didn't get to visit much (darn work gets in the way). Used to do business with Georgetown Tobacco back when the internet was new and they printed the web pages and sent them out to your mailbox They've kinda followed the current trend and moved to mostly cigar sales but still have some decent house blends and a few pipes. They have some chairs where you can sit and enjoy a smoke (important when all the hotels are smoke free).
I used to think the definition of coveting was exemplified by the song "I wish that I had Jesse's girl." Not a girl LIKE jesse's girl, but Jesse's girl, herself.

Of course that means it'll drive her crazier.
Smoking this in a MM Diplomat. Really like this very mild English/Aro.
I was wrong. It has to do with pipes......
My first tin of Dunhill
After a bit of drying time, I packed a bowl of this. Definitely more my speed when it comes to a Latakia blend.
