@Woodsman Thanks so much for the come back. I have never tried any of their blends and since they sell bulk, the price is right. I might give one or two of them a whirl. By the way, I know exactly what you mean about the F reference. I couldn't have said it better... Thanks again...
Smoked a little more of the Dunhill Early Morning from the tin that I opened yesterday in my Peterson rusticated bulldog before heading out for work this morning.
@BlueCollarBastard Some mighty fine options you have there. On the Bayou is the only Frog I've yet to try, so I'll be interested in your review of the blend when you get the chance. I really enjoyed Eileen's Dream. I just finished a tin of the stuff. Very enjoyable aro.
On this rainy, windy New England morn, I'm enjoying a bowl of The Country Squire's Second Breakfast. And while I definitely should not eat a second breakfast given my present bloated, un-girlish figure, I may have a second bowl of Second Breakfast. Goes well with DD drip too!
@jim102864 the Bayou sure is different . This is the first blend ove had that isn't an aro. When i first opened the tin the smell was strong. I've heard of perique being peppery. That's what it smells like. After letting it sit open for a bit it started to mellow out. The taste, on the other hand, is completely better. I don't know how to describe it. But for a guy who has started pipe with nothing but aros to go to this and enjoy out says something in and of itself . It is some good stuff. Hate it is going out.
@Bluecollarbastard -- Like you, like me, a majority of pipe smokers' first pipe smoking experiences are with drugstore aromatics. Of those, a large number migrate to English (Latakia) blends and Virginia w/Perique blends. You just found a short cut to Latakia!!!!
@motie2 — You had asked earlier about a Peterson’s Nutty Cut review. Well, honestly, it’s not my favorite. Very light and fruity but not much depth. No rum flavoring at all. Not sure why it was matched with Barbados Plantation.
@Oddjob27 Smoking it right now. Burly content gives it a little "heady" taste. Can't find much whiskey taste if any at all. It does give a pleasant room note almost between an aromatic and a standard English blend, with a hint of whiskey. Again, a little heady from most aromatics... It's providing a relaxing smoke...
@jfreedy I found it in the bottom of a box with almost 50 pipes I bought at an estate sale. The whole box cost me $35 bucks! Didn't take much work at all to bring it back to like-new condition...
