@motie2 My name ends in an LE. The Casillero pipe was part of the "Build your own combo" that P&C offered around Christmas. For $19.99 you got the pipe, a pouch of OTC tobacco of your choice, a bag of pipe cleaners and a pipe tool. After I received the first one, I decided to get 2 more. They really are good smokers for the price.
Two bowl afternoon. Rattray's Exotic Orange in a Rinaldo Apple followed by MacBaren Mixture Flake in my Zack Hamric Snapping Turtle. Both while sipping Gin & Tonic.
I have really been into Navigator by G.L. Pease (Old London Series) lately. I finish up every night with it since i discovered how well it smoked in a GBD apple shape. The bowl is just the right size and has always been a favorite smoker of mine. This tobacco is so filling in many ways. Nicotine level is higher than most so be careful if you are new to the hobby but let me tell you once you build up your tolerance get you some of this fine tobacco. It has some very nice Virginia's but what makes this blend unique is the Dark Fired Kentucky with just a lamb's breath of dark rum. It hits me in all the right places. I feel so satisfied when I am done. I just drop the mike and head for the sack.
Looks like we got flagged for off topic. Haha! I did want to respond to your comment though. Yes Greg Pease has a nice Dark Fired Kentucky and it is in Sextant as well but just as a condiment. I know C and D manufacture his blends but how come his blends taste of age and higher quality? Almost like Esoterica Blends. Now to be fair my Navigator is aged already and Greg says all of his blends get better with age and are designed just for that purpose. Anyway i am off topic but thanks to everyone who posts what they are smoking. I really enjoy reading and seeing (pics) what makes you guys tick. Thanks for energizing me Pipe Community!
@KA9FFJ, Newminster tobaccos are great, especially the #400 Superior Navy Flake, I just ordered 1 Pound of it, for $1.83 per ounce you can't beat it, the Superior Round Slices are good also!
@jfreedy -- I've been wondering about Nutty Cut since P&C paired it with my beloved Barbados Plantation. Can you give us/me a more detailed review. How is the rum presence / Is there a rum presence? I asked @ghostsofpompeii but he had no experience with it. Thanks.
@KA9FFJ I really enjoy the Newminster line of English and Virginia blends, when Peter Stokkeby got sold he created the Newminster Line and IMHO improved on all his old line that he turned his hand to. I stockpiled my favorites and judging how McClelland had to drop out with the Draconian amount the FDA (I'm thinking about the translation of the F.) per blend, I'm now going to order a bit more of all my favorites. Due to my age, I'm starting to smoke from my cellar more and acquiring less but it looks pretty bad even for the blends that predate 2007.

G.L. Pease must like DFK. He uses it to great effect. Sixpence is really good stuff, and there is a nice helping of Dark Fired in there as well.
